For those having issues with graphics, lag, stuttering, you may want to get more RAM or a faster vid card. I have none of these issues with 3 gigs of ram, dual core processor and 2 7600 nvidia 256mb cards in SLI mode. Game looks great, especially the detail on character models and armor.

Actually, there are numerous people using dual and quad core with 4gb RAM (myself included) that are experiencing massive 'game breaking lag' and poor performance. Just type in warhammer stutter in your search engine and see. Yeah, drivers, anti virus, flash bios, reinstall  etc etc etc

Unfortunately, the game was rushed out well before it was finished to get in before WotLK before they committed to Blizzard again. Sadly, this has gone really wrong and they are hardly likely to admit to game breaking problems at this stage. AoC all over again

I really hope they fix it soon as the game has some great features, character customisation, PQ's, tome of knowledge etc but at the moment it's badly coded, crawling with bugs and no where near optimised enough for large numbers of players.

In answer to the OP, no, I'm not paying a sub fee as well for a half finished game. I didn't do beta but have submitted 24 bug reports so far, for a so called finished product, this is bad

Are we playing the same game? Just look at my sig for my specs barely any problems in huge RvR and I had lag in shatt in WoW.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

To hell with the fact that the game has more content that any game out there, to hell with the lack of a grind fest, or RvR restricted to the uber gear crowd at endgame, you dont like this game because it isnt absolutly perfect.

Dont act like this hasnt been one of the smoothest and bug free launches of an mmo.

if you want smoother character movement, lower the graphic settings to fastest framerate, it worked for me...yeah yeah you have the best system ever created and you shouldnt have to, but it you really wanted better movement than all you have to do is lower the settings.

All your other complaints are pretty much non factors to gameplay and overall fun, if you want a chatroom then join a guild or make some friends.

If what you mentioned are game breakers, there are plenty of asian grindfests that are free that offer exactly what you seem to want.

I'm renewing for sure the game is amazing. For those you say its not finished yet lets take a look back at WoW's release. WAR has about twice as much to do and runs/plays far smoother.

No, I won't be renewing. It lost its novelty quickly.

I will definately be renewing. The game really takes on life after you pass the first big RVR area and move on to tier 2. Our guild is almost level 11 (which actually makes a difference as we can do things like access the guild hall in the main city, which as special stuff).

The guild growth has visible impact and makes you feel valuable as part of your community of guildies. Aside from growing our characters there is tangible incentives to growing the guild.  This was one of the things that has grown my interest.  Add that to the fact we have an alliance with another large guild (this also impacts the game) and I am almost never without others to adventure with.

The PVE, while typical of MMOs, has well written stories and are interesting if you stop to read them. The scenerios can become repetative but are good ways to gain renkown and give you a break from the more involved PVE or RVR sessions.

Anyway, so much to do in the game I will be playing for a long while.

It's not groundbreaking and hasn't amazed me as such, but it's good fun and i'll certainly be subscribing for at least a few months.

I personally have failed to see any of the performance issues mentioned.  Playing at 1920x1200 on a C2D @3.2, 4GB ram, 4870 1GB on Vista 64 - looks great maxxed out with the AA cranked up and runs flawlessly.

There does seem to be a slight memory leak issue, but it has only been out a couple of weeks so i'm sure this will get sorted sharpish.

I can see this game getting better with time (city sieges anyone?!).

Ah, yes. The "I run the game fine, if you don't it's your fault" guy.

Except that many performance troubles are traced back to starting with a specific patch in pre-release about 3 weeks ago.

I haven't decided, yet, depsite my hype a couple weeks ago. This game really seems to be a one trick pony. The PvE is pretty boring. I won't even discuss the "out of range" bugs, because who cares about PvE. This definately doesn't feel like a MMO that I can lose myself in.

I already cancled. WAR is just too ugly for me. If they at least improve the combat animations to make it look less clunky and make combat feel less clunky overall I'd say it's a decent game.

This is a good post.  I am enjoying the game so far but I am not sure its due to something being fresh and new or its possible the game is good?  The biggest issue I have right now is what greydor has written in this post.  I bought the game because I had an image of world wide battles and red zones all over the place.  Towns overrun and cannons going off all over the place etc.  However its far from it.  The scenarios are fun but I dont see any end point to them. RvR is in a box and its too easy to run away.  Plus the NPC cannons that you can take control of (wicked idea btw) can only just I mean just go over the RvR line meaning that you can only really use if the enemy is stupid enough to sit on the boundary.  Then if a side wins over the realm it doesn't affect me in the slightest except for some minor merchant buffs etc.

Will I sub past a month?  Probably but within a week of playing WAR I have already played AoC a fair bit as well so that isnt the best sign right now.

WAR has an amazing concept and great ideas but need to execute better.

Ok.  So a guildie of mine needed help with a quest that was acting funky.  I was at a keep in ostland.  I get on my mount and head out the non guarded RvR boundary that goes into an area that is generally destruction part quests.  I see a black orc.  He is a lone and has his guild standard.  I decide to kill him and take his standard.  I run him down on the horse and attack since we are both RvR flagged.  In fact I would remain rvr flagged for 30 minutes anywhere I went.

So how is there not world pvp?  I have to be grinding PvE for 30 minutes straight and never ever traverse an RvR zone.  Do you know how often i am RvR flagged?  like 90% of the time.  Between using Fligh paths and need to run through a rvr lake to get somewhere to actually doing PvP.

I am just not buying this argument or idea.  The fact is this is because people are not utilizing what is there.  You could stalk the other faction in non RvR lakes quite a bit.  People are flagged all the time.

The RvR are not some magic place where PvP can happen and no where else.

You can kill people all over the place except for the safe zone towns and warcamps.    And if people want a game with no safe zones.  Well that isn't gonna happen.

Today was the first day since it went live that I didn't login to War, despite the fact that I didn't have much to do. I guess War isn't for me.

I play this game for hours straight on the weekend and experience no problems. Seriously, as I have not seen them at all what are the performance issues that people are having and are you sure it is not related to system specs or drivers being outdated? Not trying to put anyone down but want to give the perspective that I honestly have 0 performance issues.

I haven't yet decided whether or not to subscribe. After playing it for a couple of weeks I am reminded why I have always preferred sandbox style MMOs. I think I'm having more fun than I did playing Guild Wars, but I'm not certain (for those of you who think the two are comparable). In any case, I commend Mythic for being as forthright as they have been. They seem to have delivered a game that stayed relatively true to their vision.

I cancelled my sub yesterday.  War was fun for the first couple days then after the "new" factor wore off it started going downhill.  I managed to level up an 18 magus and a 10 DoK.

The PQ's were fun the first few times then quickly became repetitive.

The RvR was a slaughter since the order was out numbered about 5 to 1 on the server I played on.

Scenarios aren't my thing, I was playing more for the RvR.

The PvE content was mind numbingly easy, they even show you exactly where to go.  The mobs have almost no aggro raduis so there's no worry about getting adds.

As many people have said before, nobody talks!  I was invited to about four guilds and not one time was I asked if I wanted to join.  The only words I heard uttered in a group once was, "healz plz".

Have fun people, it's simply not for me.

I'll be resubbing.  When I play with a few RL friends we have to sit there when we log on and go "What should we do tonight?"

And that's something I haven't had to do in a long time.  And it's not because there are things we don't want to do.  We just have to choose what our focus for the night will be.

Leveling is standard for an MMO.  PQs can be repetative, but so are instanced dungeons.... MMOs are repetative, that's just how they are.

RvR has been a ton of fun.

With the smooth launch, and the tons of things to do, I'll be resubbing for a long time hopefully.
