now, im not SURE if WOTLK adds another ten levels to the cap..but if it does, what would happen if you bought WOTLK without TBC? would you be able to get to level 70 as if you had TBC just not the race's, zones and things like that?

If I am understanding it right your asking if you buy WOTLK and not the BC will you be able to level to 70.

The answer to that is no because you need to have the burning crusade to run wrath of the lich king and you can only get to 70 by going to outland. WOTLK is 68-80 content.

well, i was asking what would happen if you got WOTLK without TBC...like..could you still get to 80 off grinding or ECT.

You need to have an TBC upgraded account to upgrade it with WOTLK.

From what i remember the highest you can get without doing TBC stuff is around 62-63, might be a little higher but definitely not enough to do WotLK content with.

Well say you bought wrath and not tbc then had a friend summon you to northrend.

then you had some friends run you through some of the lower level instances there to level you from 60-68.

it would take a ton of work, but hell it might be possible?

Maybe so, that would depend on the instances being accessible to people below 70 (Maybe 68 to allow some leeway) and that you can actually upgrade an account to WotLK without having TBC.
Of course if the instances don't work for people under 70, there's still the regular mobs, worth a try i'd say.
EDIT: I just read from someone on the American WoW boards that they levelled to 67 using the old raids, so if you can get enough people together it might work.
