I notice that Warhammer is on top of the rankings chart here and I wonder for how long. When AOC first came out it was also on top of the rankings for awhile and then slowly fell off and is now considerd to be a shitty game. I want to give it a try but I think I will wait awhile for this game to be played some more and then see what people really think of it. (PC Specs) |

Makes sense. Wait until some servers are participating heavily in end game and see how it plays out. That will be the real key to whether Warhammer will be a good longterm game. |

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I actually bought AoC in it's 1rst week after the hype finally got to me. Won't happen with WAR though lol, even though it does look like it's a different sort of hype. |

Yer same here. I have heard that the lvling after lvl20 lacks players and xp content ? What happens when everyone is lvl40 ? Will it be a case of, been there done that i'm off to play somethink else. Can a pvp game last or will people get bored after 6 months of smashing the sh*t out of each other ? |

So far I've been having a lot of fun with WAR. One of the most fun aspects of this game is the grouping/social features, but mostly the ability to level via PVP. I hate grinding, so its perfect for me :) |

the low player numbers after 20 rank as u have heard is probable because people havent come that far yet (or at least not many have) or the guy that told u was on a low pop server u have to be at least on a mid to high or on a full (damn waiting line (15 minutes max are rare i wait 7 minutes lol) |

AOC I got into the Closed beta of AOC and it was a mess.. No im not a hater of AOC ! Just wish they would have told people how the game was! Anyways i was there when they had Closed Beta and i made my mind up in just 10 mins that was enough for me ! Why casuse my comp was geting like 5 fps :(
World Of Warcraft I was there the day of Stress test for World Of Warcraft - Yes it had Bugs and many, none were game breakers, servers crashed many times for a long time !
Warhammer Still has some issues and over time will be fixed, i cant say everyone that plays dont have any issues, just for me i get a crash at times and it was less then back when i was in Open Beta.
Im a Seeker and i guess i never find that one game that has it all? But mabe someday? I just wish companys would stop racing out a game to get our cash ! AOC i had Hopes for ! I failed it ! Not for me and how it runs on my pc.. sorry guys. World Of Warcraft was Fun ! THEN they set up to world of BG Twinks and Arenas After 3 years i had enough! Warhammer well yet to be seen how long i play it, just right now im having fun ! I have no hate for people that make games, i just wish they would understand its our money and time there wasting here ! I pay or play a game on how it goes ! If theres no fun to it ? Why even try to convence yourself to keep playing it? Anyways if you dont like Warhammer thats cool ! If you dislike any game, is ok with me, just dont go to there forums and make up lies !

I played WoW for the last 2 yeara, TR for a week, and most recently AoC on day one to quit on day four. I played open War open Beta for a day and bought the game. On opening day, I stared at it for 30 minutes on my bed wondering if I should blow $50 for a potential failure. I finally opened it, and after a quick install patch download, I have played it incessantly ever since! I am glad I did it and I will not be buying WotLK! |

Best to ignore all forums for about 2 months and see where the game has progressed by November 18th, then you should have your decesion by then. I would'nt visit any type of of WAR forum if I was on the fence about buying this game now. (If I were you of course).

Good idea to wait though. I would estimate that right around the release of Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Mythic will release a Free XX day trial. Perfect opportunity to sample the gameplay while at the same time you will be able to converse with the community there and get a feeling for what is available at end level. |

Heh, if you wait that long you'll never be able to level.
Leveling in the game T3 and beyond requires a LOT of scenario play, and if everyone is already at T4 when you start, you're going to be just as screwed as people were if they arrived late to the party for DAoC. ---------------------------------------- |

Originally posted by Novaseeker If you come into it having waited to see how the first 6-8 weeks have played out, and what the initial end-game reports are like, it's not going to matter if it takes you a longer time to get through T3 and into T4. You're coming into the game as an informed consumer, not an early adopter, and it's therefore MUCH more likely that you're making a long term committment. 2 months from now, it may take you *longer* to get through T3 than it's taking the mass horde of early adopters, but it absolutely won't be impossible, and because you've never done it before, you won't know the difference, now will you? Additionally, your stated position makes a fairly appalling assumption. That any (and every) game is completely static and that the Developers lack either inclination or ability to tune the challenges of the game to keep levelling players on the "intended" Time Invested vs. Rank Gained curve. T3 may be easy because there are tons of people playing it now - if it becomes hard due to a lack of players in that tier, then Mythic will tune the challenges (that might be "WoW Levelling Curve Adjustments", it might be additional non-scenario quest hubs, etc.) to keep that portion of levelling fun for the players. It's fairly shocking to me to see how many people approach a discussion from the angle of "this is what it's like now, and this is EXACTLY how it will always be - so if you don't do XYZ RIGHT NOW, you'll NEVER BE ABLE TO DO IT. EVAR." |

Oh they may do that. I think they may have to, because the current design only works when you have a LOT of players at your same level in your same time zone on your server, playing at the same time that you do. So when that peters out (which it will, it has in every MMO except for WoW, and even there it happened eventually, it just took longer), they'll have to do something as you suggest. ---------------------------------------- |

I have been playing WOW,AOC and WAR and must say I really enjoy all of them. I will however put it on the shelf for a few months to let Mytic work some of the worst quirks out of it. |
