Well went down the road today to buy the box after the SE head start ran out.

Got home installed the game and entered my code on war eu site.

Got the email through saying its been activated etc and i cannot log into the patcher due to authentication failure.. 

Anyone else got this problem, or had this problem?

if you changed your password at anytime. try using your old password..

 Never have changed my password.

Im getting the same problem. Changed my password after, still nothing.

 Ah god sake support for this game is complete shite.

 Maybe the key hasn't actually been activated yet.. you changed your pw after entering your key?

The servers were down this morning for maintenance. Maybe it has something to do with that?

My friend has exact same problem.

He bought the game today and has this authentication failiures.

I got no problem though...

I think I know... try right clicking on warpatch icon in the folder and click "Run as administrator" and see if that works ... I had the same problem but on a different game and that did the trick. Unless I am thinking of something else, but seriously give it a try :)

This is causing about 95% of the authentication issues with the game.  I had the same problem until I read the information on the website.  The information that you use to log into your account management page is the "Master Account" info and the information you use to log in to the game may be completely different.  Make sure you're not trying to use your master account info to log into the game and inadvertantly set your game information to something different.  Hope this helps!

Whats this master/game account about.. never herd of it.

 For me; I was in game yesterday; today its the aut failure.

Well I am using the US version, and we have a master account for account management, but we use a different login for the game.

If you truly only have one account, then I'm not sure what is going on.

It is likely authentication server failing. I'd say call next to confirm.

Nope, EU here and we use same Login/pass for website and the game.

 weird thing is my bro hasnt entered his CD key yet and he can still login into the game.. ah don't know what is going on.

Ack, sorry for the confusion then as they have a different set up on the NA servers.  It sounds like the authentication server is down.  Have they done server maintenance today?  I'm at work so I can't check it out yet.

Bah im confused, yesterday I was logging in, today with the same log in and password, nothing, put in my game key, nothing, went on website, got an email to confirm a password change, nothing :S

 on war-europe it say "Update at 15:10 CET - The cloning operation has been a success and all servers are now open once again. We hope that many of you will choose to make one of the new servers your home."

I'm having the same issues. It just won't let you use the cd key from the box with the SE login details. you try and make a new account and it says E-mail address already being used.

if i don't get an answer from their customer support over the next few days....well put it this way I can only afford to run one mmo subscription at a time....seems blizz will keep mine.

I have the same problem!

I entered my code today as the grace period was over. Then I got an email from the support saying

" Your Code has been correctly registered. It also gives you access to the following components which have been activated:
 

ACTIVATED Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

ACTIVATED 1 month - WAR
 

Then when I try to log in.. with the same password and Login as I've used up till now....

Authentication Failed. Please re-enter you login credentials.

I'm getting really frustrated over this game. If they don't want more of my money, can't they just tell me?

Seriously  Right click on the icon you use to run Warhammer and click Run as Administrator... the same thing happened to me on a different game and that fixed it. It's something weird with vista and the server not knowing where you are coming from or something sooo again

Right Click on the Icon you use to run WAR or just to be safe the warpatch icon in the WAR folder and then click run admin
