I really havent noticed this problem, on a rare occasion it will happen, mabey its because im a bright wizard, but i think its has more to do with your isp and location to the servers. Im not a network specialist so im not sure. It just sounds from the OP that this is something happening often, which if itss the case would be obnoxious as hell. |

Just trying to grasp how this works so heres a question....Why doesnt it happen to me? i mean why doesnt my character teleport ahead when running through players? ....or may it be happening on others screens with me? Im a SW and have found that once at 50% i my as well stand and fight if root isn't ready as running only moves my dead body further while standing i survive much more....point is if i run no one seems to lose me. |

and by now you can see there a lot with this problem.. it might be just eu problem who knows.. yet servers are low pop. and laggy.. i wont even talk about chat system.. if you didnt notice lag and sentence cutting in half.. you must be playing another game..
i didnt play doac. but that example wasnt too encouraging .. considering it was never fixed.. and game is 7-10 years old ? there is 2 factors which gona kill war.. thats poor optimization.. in every aspect.. severs capped on something as 2k people online .. and general laginess while i can never say my skilsl lags.. not even for 0.05 s
chat lag is annoying.. this collision / teleporting lag is just poor..
i wont event go into the fact that dest have ? speed aura buff. and half of scenarios are capture and hold.. .. first to grab = win.. while its np in t2. its getting iritating in t3.. wont even mention healer count.. dest have 3+ healers each game.. while order happy to have single one..

Ive got it! It's your connection mate, coupled with your pc's performance. you need to upgrade your memory so it can process what's happening on your screen faster. :) |

hehe well done for not biting, yep i failed. seriously though since i first said that it sounded like a conection i have noticed a few things myself..like the teleporting and the root animations still following me when they are rooted so i see your point. I just hope they manage to sort this out before players like yourself get too frustrated and leave....No one really wants that. |

Its half impossible to block an attacker from reaching your healer / caster sadly. Thats my biggest task as a tank and cant do it well sadly. If I could the healers and weaklings would be given good time to do their thing. The tank that is born to tank! |

War has servers with 1/3 the population of other MMORPG and everyone still sees the lag. Glad you mention DAoC again, it's obvious now.
Ahaha now you are an expert on code? |

Rooting through class structures and variables to try and locate the "problem" part is not an easy task. Particularly when the problem turns out to be a combination of things that force you to rewrite the way that portion of code works. Then, if you did a good job with things like inheritence and correctly setting up your code into independent pieces... Then perhaps you may have fixed the problem... or introduced a new problem elsewhere. Typically things like this need horrendous amounts of feedback and examination just to pinpoint which parts of the code are causing the problems... Plenty of people who complain hardly ever understand any of this, and don't seem to appreciate the fact that "Hey! It's still functioning!" Yeah it might not be perfect but guess what, at least we have the first viable form going. It will still take 6 or 7 new MMO's to perfect this until it is a standard that get's implemented everywhere. I'll say it again, i'm still impressed the internet works at all. |

I have had the same problem. But I find I only have it in the populated areas. It's a problem every game I have played at launch has had. But they always seem to iron it out. Star Wars Galaxies had it at launch, and WOW had it at launch also. Other games also had the problem at launch and it lasts a few weeks till they get it ironed out. I just try to remember that there is no way for a company to forsee every problem until after they launch. This just happens to be one of the problems all of them have. I am not a programmer nor an IT tech so I can not even begin to guess what causes it. Until I find out I just have to leave it to the professionals to fix it as soon as they can. Yep, I am a patient person. I just let them know my specs and what the problem is and give em time to fix it. I only get upset if the problem is never fixed. At that time I usually just leave the game for another. But I only ever had to do that once lol. |

This ruins some pvp moments for myself as well. Yesterday we would have won if the enemy didnt get the final flag point. I was on the guy, just me vs him, he had 25% health and a long way to go to the flag. So, im right behind him attacking him. Then he stops, which in turn blocks me from moving forward. Then while I am stuck there as if he is still there as a solid object, bam!!! he just teleported 100 feet ahead of me. Even my pet still thinks hes in that one spot instead of the teleported location. Another thing I have seen. One time i was jumping up a rock, a small one, and as i jumped a server stutter happened, telling the server that i was continuing to go up when i jumped. I ended up jumping very high, i would throw out, 100ft into the air and when I landed it hit for like 3000. What this means is that the server is having trouble with client to server communication, it also means that it will be easy for hackers to cheat using confusion between client and server. The server cannot keep track of where you are, but it remembers the direction you were going and you can teleport, super jump, whatever. This is ruining pvp for me at times as i see so many issues appearing, especially since I have a pet class and the pathing is career breaking at times. Are we freer in America today? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWOW1OKzdNA |

The secret is bad code. (perhaps like AoC - even old codes - from DAoC this time). AoC had instances, Mythic has capped server populations according to some 500/500 according to Prof red "much more" just to get things moving.... According to what I see in the log-ons and traced players: pretty low pops, too low to be good. And the reason is simple: lag Code. |
