It's not, everyone who tried to play large scale battles on the games I listed will concur. Choppy gameplay in RvR situations is a "worst case"-scenario. It takes away any form of fun gameplay by taking away control of your character. In an MMO, performance > all.

You gonna get flamed! The fanbois jumps on you bad if you comment the graphic in anykind of negative way, even if its good feedback for Mythic. I am having fun in the game but would like better graphics and a moveaway from the wow cartoonish style.

They had to stay true to the WAR IP. I agree though that some classes could very well have been designed in a better way, got flamed for saying this too though. But the general iconic, overstyled design is inherent to Warhammer and has to stay...

I agree mostly. WAR isnt a graphical beauty, but it has some nice vistas here and there, but it needs a 3rd glance. My encounter with WOW was very brief, and yet I felt many places in WAR looked VERY familiar. I travelled up into the tier 4 zones and some felt almost like 1:1 copies of WOW zones in design and atmosphere. It really will never be a world you admire the vistas in, which is a shame for me, since I too am a very visual person.

I agree on that gameplay and gameflow, (no stuttdering graphics or lag) is more important than flashy graphics. but they can work pretty well hand in hand if you balance them. But now both of them are poor sadly. But hopefully it will get fixed, on both ends. If they just can get rid of the memory leaks. Im using cement atm to try to patch all the mem leaks, my flat looks like a parkinglot after covering all holes I could find.

WAR is similar to both WOW and AoC - what would suit your taste ?

Anyone that thinks thye can pick up a new MMORPG and feel at home straight away is naive - you can barely pick up any game and do that let alone something as grandscale as a virtual landscape full of freaks an mythology.

 

What's naive about saying they don't suit my taste? I can see something and say whether I think it looks nice or not. I think it doesn't and I make perfectly clear that's my personal opinion. I don' t like the style, I don't like the colors, I don't like the way the characters look. I do like some of the scenaries.

Do i need a reason for feeling that way? No, I didn't like EQ2 either back in the days, I thought it looked completely crap even though it was probably the most technical graphically advanced MMO at the time back then.

Some things suit my taste, some don't. The next person will feel completely different, this is however how I feel.

Think what you want. But facts are that graphics are GOOD.

The game looks fine, just set the settings to max, resolution to max and set some Anti-Aliasing (have to do this outside the game) and it will look fine. I'm sure your 9600GT can handle it.
