Stocks of Funcom went down by 14% today - under 7 NKR ps.  This is all time low for the company and is down by over 85% since launch of AOC.  Then stock price was over 55 NKR.  This is not good news for current players considering the big PVP patch last week that was supposed to have positive effects on both AOC and the status of the company.  Sadly it seems to have gone the other way around.

It seems like server merges are inevitable and question is if Funcom really can keep full staff on this project considering the bad publisity and huge downfall in the last 4 months.  Not to mention that still another two big time MMOs are releasing expansions within the next 3 months.

Overall... Pretty good news for custimors that want to see a finished product when they buy a computer game for their hard earned money.  I think maybe devs and publishers are getting the point.  At least the investors are.

I cant say they do not deserve this result.  We all know they do, from the minute we left tortage we began to notice issues.  When we decided to post on them, we began to see those posts moved, edited, delete, etc....

I knew it was all bad from there........

I understand that falling stock prices are obviously not a good sign for any company when they have dropped this much in a short time but I still don't think this means much for the long term future of AoC or Funcom.  I think the reality is that AoC has enough subscribers to more than pay for the monthly costs of running AoC and a healthy profit afterwards.  The only goal that Funcom needs to have is paying off the initial investment cost of creating the game which if their subscriber base stays at its current level, they will have no problem doing in 6 months or less.  After that it is pure profit.  I'd be willing to bet anyone that after 6 months you are going to start seeing Funcom stock consistently on the rise because investors are going to see that the initial debt burden of AoC is off of Funcom's shoulders and now the game is a money maker for them.  You heard it here first, buy your Funcom stock now if you want to make an ###load of money over the next 12 months.

Airwen forget it.. People here belive stockprice is related to population numbers on servers... The investors know even less than us about population numbers. I therefore fail to see the relevance of this post (again). If OP would argue it is relevant out of fear for that AoC will not be developped further. Then be reliefed, FC has 40 mill USD in the bank (OP, read up on Q2 financial reports even if you want to play analyst).

Ye - beeing at all time high price at launch had nothing to do with the "great" launch of the game.... It just... kinda happened...

I dont need to play any analyst more than then what the investors are doing.  There is a reason that the company has dropped by 85%.  Now... Tell me why plz if it has nothing to do with the "succsess" of AOC.

ANd while you are at it... Go find the info about Act/blizz while you are figureing it out....

The entire stock market is reeling, have you been watching the news? Our country, heck even the world is teetering on a depression.  It is not just Funcom whose stock is falling. If we can't fix the financial solution soon none of us will be playing MMO's or any other game because none of us will have jobs or the cash to live like we do today.

I just don't understand why you AoC haters jump to every message board you see to bash Funcom everytime their stock flucuates.

The last time a CEO sold most of his stock in the company he was in cahrge of, they called that ENRON.

Funcoms CEO just dumped a huge portion of his stock, what does this tell you about the company?

Stock price is a DIRECT result of the success or failure of AOC. Of course it is, its the only game they charge money to play and its the only one that can generate direct revenue.  Game launched stock at 55, after months of banning people from the forums in an attempt to silence the critics, where is the stock now? under 7 ? Yea that must have nothing to do with their flagship product?

Seeing as you just had to try to draw wthis conclusion I must remind you that as the US sits poised to enter another '20s era depression the markets are off what? 20% 30%? Funcoms stock price is off 85% in the same period. There is no connection between the OL exchange and Funcoms price and the world markets or the US credit crisis.  There maybe a connection later, when funcoms crappy stock value and the credit crisis combine to mean funcom cant secure a loan to continue operating in the RED. That may very well come to pass.
