Hey guys, I just bought a new computer and was astonished to learn that it came with five gigs of ram. I thought my old system was good with two. Anyone else have more than five? By the way, I wrote this message through voice chat on vista. It should be fun to see how games run now. I just need a new graphics card probably since you won't even need five gigs. |

2G currently is like minimum amount of memory and 4G is typical for new system. I perspnnaly think to upgrade my 2G with another 4 so there will be 6G total. About you PC if not imposible its not typical to have 5G memory especiialy for newly assembled. RAM come always by pow of 2 so its 1G, 2G, 4G. The only way to have 5G is to upgrade your PC that have 1G with another 4G that no one will do for new PC. |

interesting... Well, I didn't upgrade my computer at all. Its an HP from bestbuy. It does come with 5 gigs. Have any idea how I got 5 if I didn't buy extra ram? I'm a gamer but I'm stupid in computer hardware. I just know ram=better. graphics card=better. |

FYI this thread will probably be moved to the Hardware forum at some point, in case you're looking for it. Well if you're going to be a PC gamer then you should educate yourself a bit about the hardware and software you're using. You're bound to run into problems here and there, and you don't want to have to run to a forum or bring it to a shop every time something goes wrong... ------------------------- |

Must be 4 of those 1.25 GB sticks Best Buy recently invented. I hear you get a free salad spinner with every stick. ____________________________________________ |

As everyone else said normally it increase increments of 2 especially in systems using duel channel memory. 5 gig is possible but is not the norm, was it advertised as 5 gig or have you just noticed that when you started using it? If it's the latter then maybe when it was assembled they put in an extra memory stick in error, in which case you got a bargain! |
