I would like to share an experience i had in Ryzom today. This is the probably one of the kindest things that has happened to me in any MMO, let alone The Saga of Ryzom.

I had just gotten to Mainland and ventured outside of the Gate to see what creatures lingered there for me to test my skills on. Well, without knowing, i had ran into a 100-150 area and got one hit by a mob that easily resisted my spell.

I asked in /region if i could get a rez and recieved an invite form a person that will remain nameless. I thanked the person while they were running to me and we started chatting. I told the homin that i was very new to the game/mainland and didnt really know the area. The person told how they understood and would like to show me to the area that was best suited to my lvl. I followed them and began fighting more creatures, where i died...again.
So, after another invite the person offered to follow me around healing me OUT of group and generally helping me understand the game and the lower lvls. They offered to help me out over the next few days with anything i needed. (In what other game do you find people like this?)

After a bit of this my new friend then invited me into their guild becuase they knew it would help me out a great deal. Well, i had to turn them down because im in the military and deploying soon so im not going to be around for about 10 months or so. The person told me that they fully understood and then said that their previous offer of help over the next few days still stood.

THIS just blew me away. In most games today someone would probably have showed me to the newb area and just ran off. Not only did this person show great respect but they helped me lvl a bit, offered a spot in their guild AND THEN didnt retract their offer of help EVEN THOUGH i will be gone in a few days for almost a year.

Needless to say i added this person to my friend list. I told them that they and people like them are one of the BIGGEST reasons that this game will stay alive. The community in this game has always impressed me but today was just phenominal. I look very much forward to returning to Atys. People....we need to keep this game and this community alive and thriving.

MMORPGs are a business like a dairy-farm. You try to get out the maximum of milk with a minimum amount of moo. It seems all we get these days is moo.

Ryzom, we dare to be different.
Do you dare to adapt?

For all of Ryzom's faults and signs of age, this kind of attitude is timeless. Tip o' the hat is all my fellow players and their tireless efforts to increase our playerbase through kindness, understanding and good gamemenship.

This is the main reason I always feel bad when I leave ryzom. The community is the best I've ever seen.  Now if only the new devs can make something great outta the content I'd love to go back permenately.

That is one of the things I have always loved about  Ryzom.  There are some of the best people ever in it.  It has one of the best communitys any MMORPG has.

There of course will be the 10% jerks, but over all it is the best  of any game.

I just hope that this time it can keep going.  I am keeping my fingers crossed.  When you consider this is a 4 yr old game it is still awesome and has the greatest people in it.

Keep up the good work and good luck to who ever took it over.

thats what a real MMORPG is about. the community makes the game good to people. like ragnarok? why there still players playing that game? its because there are many people playing the game, can be known or from other countries, which makes the game alive till now.
