The engineer is currently kind of weak. Much of their damage come from AOE damage-over-time attacks, which currently can be easily negated by any healer's HOTs. The turrets are incredibly weak as well, I'm talking weak on the order of hitting a cloth wearer for 15-30 damage when said cloth wearer has about 2000 health. Engineers are fine in PVE where mobs don't heal, but perform very badly in RVR. The class is conceptually sound but Mythic needs to increase the DPS by probably cutting the DOT time in half while leaving the total damage done. That would be better DPS in the short term while leaving engineer overall damage unchanged. They also need to make turrets either do about 4-5 times the damage they are currently doing or drastically reduce the AP cost to lay them down. As it is now they are probably the most AP-inefficient damage in the entire game by far. My engineer is R21 btw and I have a R15 Zealot so I have knowledge of playing this class and playing against it up to and through tier 2. |

I have one. He is only 10 (almost 11) and RR10 as well. Seriously, I hate playing short races. Short fat races LOL. But with what I saw in the beta (whenever we could be a dwarf) I liked em, something about firing a gun, throwing bombs, and of course landmines... just got my blood pumping. I am pretty consistant with being in the top 5 for damage, and will probably go up the tinker line and get sniper shot. Once you hit level 7 you get all your turrets... and level 10 you get barbed wire (aoe slow). That is your, get the hell out card, cause if you damage them, they have a 50% chance to break the snare. You do it to bottleneck them at chokepoints, saving the healers (when they decide to heal) and most importantly save you. Until then, its gets a little rough... But you do get this knockback that is hill-frickin-larious when you knockback an Ork off a ledge and to see him sent off flying LOL. Engineer is a good class... If people who know what they are doing are playing, can be a definate tide turner. |

If a healer is healing their troops, throw a few dots on him and he will back away. Tank isn't getting healed anymore... win there. Assist with picking off a target... win there. Squigs? No worries, just keep out of range of their masters and take the squig down to protect the healers and target the Master with your turret to irritate em... win. Along with all the other crowd control methods I listed in my post above... this guy... can make or break (if healed) a battle. |

I know how turrets are supposed to work and how they actually work. My engineer is level 21, yours is 10. The damage turrets do is completely negligible. On my Zealot, I can detaunt an engineer's turret, HOT myself, DOT the engineer and tank the engineer to death without having to actively heal myself. Yes, not balanced 1 vs 1, blah blah blah. When you have more experience with engineer the problems with this class will become clear. |

It is rather weak in my opinion. However, it is a lot of fun in many ways. Using grenades, setting up turrets and shooting a gun is just amazing. |

I love the engineer class concept and hate its implementation. They are the ipitome of a support class. You will not be able to kill any other class 1v1 if they know 2 cents about what theyre doing. Your job is to debuff, slow, knockback, and otherwise harass the enemy team while providing fire support and AoE damage/debuffs.
Do not expect to get solo kills as an Engineer. Your priorities are as follows : A. Slow /snare the enemy team B. Debuff the tanks C. Make the healers heal themselves instead of somebody else... leaving then DPS and tanks wide open to assault D. Splash some light damage around so you feel good about your top rank in the Total Damage Chart (You can probably make top total damage every round... you will also die alot and never actually have a killing blow...) |

They sell this class as "area defense" but what does an engineer do when a tank charges him? He abandons his turret and runs like hell, or he dies. Straight up. They need to bring this class's damage into focus. Not so much that they compete with Bright Wizard for single target damage, but running into an engineers line of fire and turret range SHOULD hurt like hell, since it is easily avoided by just walking away from the immobile turret. Currently most players ignore the engineer once they realize how little damage engineers actually do. And when melee get root-breakers? It's lights out for the engineer if any melee get close enough for the engineer to have to use his root (which btw is broken by his very own DOT damage). |

Levels has nothing to do with it. Well it does, more abilities hehe. Go flex your epeen elsewhere. If a zealot is hitting the turret, great, build a new one, and let people know he is being a pain in your butt... most PUGs will listen, others will do what they want,,, in a guild fight, they zealot would be dead in seconds. Turret isn't meant to be the primary source of damage. It is a debuffer tool and a light dot... That clear enough for you? |
