I gave it at 8 so far. The main aspects I like include the grittier feel to the art without trying to be a tech demo (AoC), the feel of being in a constant warzone (like TR) and the stability of the client especially at launch. I also love the variations on a theme of the class types.

I am sure the score will change after 3 or so months of play because I truly believe that an MMO takes such an amount of time to really get to know and commit to, unless you instantly hate it. I just hope it is positive and I continue to play alongside WOW and Eve rather than get bored as I level.

I think a pat on the back to GOA for a great game relase and certainly not a disaster of marketing meets reality that unfortunatly have hit too many titles.

I gave the game a 9.  I almost gave it an 8 but a few of my issues are strickly personal and related to the guild Im stuck in at the moment.  All personal issues aside the game launch was fine, the content works, there's a few performance bugs, a random minor loot bug, and the server queuing is annoying but for an MMO its all super minimal which is nice.

Having all the content working is the most important to me, performance issues are just going to happen no matter what you do with an MMO game.

WAR being what it is....IS A FUN GAME!!!! Not, it is not my perfect MMO...but I am happy to accept it for what it is and play and have fun accordingly!

I give it a 5. And I know most wont agree with my score, but the reason I gave it that score is because I stopped playing it already.

I was an SE customer and had access to the open beta and headstart when the servers werent so clogged up. I could log in and play with my guild and friends with no waiting. Now, I am put in que and have to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get in, forcing me to go onto another server if I want to play. They created cloned servers in hopes that this would reduce some of the load on the most populated servers, which did not improve my server's population. When you have 30 to 40 people in your guild who had CE accounts and didnt want to move to a cloned server, you are pretty much stuck.

The other reason for the score is that I am bored with it. It sort of reminds me of DAoC, where you level and gear up for PvP. The RvR in this game is boring and unbalanced.THe PvE is fun but how many PQs can you do before you realize how redundant it all is.

Graphics are okay, but nothing to write home about.

In game chat is near non-existant.

PvP seems meaningless to me.  It's almost like a fantasy version of a game like Warrock.  Spawn on opposite sides of the map, race to the middle, die, respawn, rinse, repeat.  You get the flag, they get the flag.  Not really meaningful at all IMO.

The one thing that I do like about WAR is how they handle grouping and solo players.  I spend zero time trying to find a group in this game.  If I need one, the game kind of just puts me into one sort of.

Anywho, it seems pretty shallow so far.  Not really my typeof MMO, so I guess I'm a little biased.

      At the 271 vote mark it looks like the majority of people like the game......The problem with these boards is that a few naysayers sound like 99 percent of the people hate the game when it is only a very small minority......I think every game needs a rating system on each board.......

Hell after 700+ votes it's still 8.93 on the mmorpg rating.  I was surprised by that as much as the votes on this poll.

The fact that 18% rated it a 10, PERFECT, can't get any better, right when it launches, shows that the numbers are skewed quite a bit by fanbois or each WAR box came with a set of rose colored glasses.

I voted 8. For me, WAR is a very good game, and will most likely become my primary game of choice. So far, everything that I seen, heard and expected from WAR has come to pass. I wrote down some other mmo´s  to make the list more easy to read;

Due to the massive imbalance of classes between Order and Detruction ..  (and don't give me the bullshit they're balanced, cause anybody who claims that is playing Destruction... )

I'm rating it a 4 at best..

When I can watch one DoK kite and heal through 8 people beating on him, just to run into a group of 6 Chosens who take no damage...  I'm saying screw this game.   If I wanted one sided skill-less PvP I'd continue to play WoW.

Pros

*Nice attempt at implementing PvP into every aspect of gaming, however there are many Cons with this

*Character customization is pretty decent

*Characters can look pretty cool.  The art is decent.

*Dialogue and story from the quests are excellent.

Cons

*Even though you can level through PvP (almost all through scenarios), the scenarios themselves just turn into an XP grind and you do the same thing over and over again.  At some point it just feels like grinding regular mobs.

*Leveling through PvE is extremely bland even with the good dialogue.  The world is a straight line and the quests are repetitive and dull.

*The over-hyped PQs.  I don't understand why people adore these.  Almost all of them are just "Slaughter X amount of this mob, then slaughter X amount of champions/gather X amount of this, then kill the Hero".  It's the same thing over and over with the exception of a unique one every.....well I've only seen about 2 unique ones.

*The PvP is also over-hyped.  With the amazing PvP creation Mythic came up with long ago (DAoC) you would expect much more than this.  The PvP is just a simple, fast, smash skills, "cluster of people" festivals.  If you're in a guild group, then it's just a simple zerg.  And don't get mad at me for saying this, I'm not a fan of WoW at all, I'm not a WoW noob, but can we just be honest and say that this PvP feels extremely similar to WoW?

*Sieges (at least at T2, and I'm just guessing it's relatively the same later) are an absolute joke compared to DAoC.  Sieges on TILES?  You can't move the siege engines?  It feels like a board game.  Also, the keep is just a tower with 3 tiny floors.  Very unimaginative and dull.

Playing off unimaginative and dull, I feel that the game is, overall, just that: unimaginative and dull. I don't understand how Mythic could go BACKWARDS in an MMO.  My expectations from the team that made arguably the best PvP in an MMO ever in DAoC, are pretty dang high.  They didn't come close at all.

RvR is all group play. This is a RvR game, not a PvE game.

Hmmm, for 90% of my Exp I seem to be playing in PvE.

It's a good game, exactly what I was looking for in a UK/US MMORPG, but I guess I'm more of an Asian MMORPG fan, but I do have to say, the RvR is exactly what I'm looking for in this MMORPG.
