When I was a kid, we didn't have "Black History Month"  ...I find the idea enlightening and welcomed it, but what would happen if we had a "White History Month?"

I thought it was cool when people started wearing "Black Pride" T-shirts.  Great trend in clothing and all around innovative, but what if I wore a "White Pride" T-shirt?

What if they did that exact same poll and used only black participants, would they show any racism?

I think...  if you ask most, they'll say the judge a person by their character, not skin color.  It's time to stop thinking of yourself as a victim and start being a leader in your community.  << I wonder who said that?

A racist is someone who does things based upon a persons colour. It's generally assumed racists are White and because of this we're  allowed 'black pride' etc. In reality Whites suffer from more racist remarks and racist inuendo than blacks.

If you can have 'Black pride', there should be a 'White pride', a 'yellow pride' etc. There's far too much PC crap over racism. So much so that it's gone totally in the other direction. It's now ok to be racist against whites.

A clear example of blacks pulling the racism card.

"Metropolitan Black Police Association" ?- Clearly a racist organization if there is not a White alternative.

I'm not racist myself, I'm for equallity, but equallity doesn't mean one colour gets an organisation and the others don't.

Id just love to see all the people freaking out if we suddenly had a White Histery month and a WET "White Entertainment Telavision" Country or Rock singgers started sinning about White power and we had Large marches on D.C. To Discourage the marrining of your sister, and to stop Beating your Wife, Oh and Equale Oppertunity to be Enroled in Schools and Hired at Jobs. And Cracker was suddnely the Real equivelent of the "N"word. In Todays Political Enviroment people would have a heart attack.

What you have to realize is that African Americans are a distinct cultural group with a shared history.  Things celebrating cultural groups are not uncommon.  There is, for instance, apparently an Irish American Heritage Month.

As for white Americans, anything that says "American" with no prefix is generally assumed to be about white Americans.  That alone should tell you something.

I think just about everyone wants racism to end completely, but you can't just ignore context and history.  Fact is, the black race and white race in America are not equivalent.  We want them to be, but there are a good number of people alive today who remember when they weren't equal under the law in some parts of the country.  Ignoring a problem and pretending it never existed is rarely the best way to solve it.

Nah, that's the standard misinterpretation. When you pick someone BECAUSE they are african american, that's racist. When you pick a dude BECAUSE you don't want to pick a woman, that's sexist. The democratic party did the former. Racism trumped sexism; as it often does among the left.

Someone who believes themselves supierior to another race. 

Most popular reasons (KKK, Nazis, the thousands of Aryan groups) who use Charles Darwins theories as an excuse to force the "lesser" races (in the nazis case every one not born in germany)  to accept a evolutionary pecking order for mankind.

There are different degrees of racism also,  from those that lack all forms of human campasion who believe that *#&^ to the ones who still have compasion but they just choose to believe it anyways.  For instance the few (there were a few,  not many) Nazi soldiers (yes, soldiers) who helped the Jews hide and escape from Hitler.  They believed all the hate put out,  they just didnt agree with all the end solutions of dealing with "their problems".

Its just using science to further mans ambition.  Like the nuclear bomb.
