Are there WAR forums ??? |

p.s. Nah, not yet I think. Would be nice to have them though; especially realm forums. Essential part of a server's community / social aspect imo.

Thats not good how are they going to listen to there players if theres no Forum, Im sure they will add this soon but it should have already been up. |

DAOC never had official forums either, seems to be Mythics style.
The IGN boards see a lot of of Mythic employee posts though. |

When you are in the game, hit the H key and VOILA! a magic screen pops up with a "FEEDBACK" section. Thus, they can listen directly to their players without listening to the 3452 replies that come after someone posts something telling the person why they are an idiot. *Ponders that for a moment* Stupid Warhammer! How dare they take away one of my favorite past times! Luckily we still have these forums and Warhammeralliance.... and a few fansites that will keep the tradition alive. :)

For the record, their Devs are active within these forums and others. So they do see the "feedback" that is posted and discussions that take place. They do so without having to maintain and moderate a forums and have a staff dedicated to such. Instead they are able to focus all of their attention to perfecting (or attempting to perfect) their games. :)

The people involved directly with the game and game mechanics would never have been 'distracted' by official forums, but they might have been more informed. Please stop trying to excuse this guys, even though every. last. one. of. you. attach at least one ":)" to your posts it doesn't make this smiles and giggles. It was just them being cheap, end of story.

While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", I muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, "404." |

Smart move from Mythic Many an MMORPG has had some real stupid mistakes made because certain "powers that be" thought the whiners on forums were the majority or needed spoon fed........ I've had one heck of a flame fest for my SWG opinion on this subject *Cheese* Many fansites are good; here "warhammer alliance", "warhammer allakhazam" Stractics. They have realm boards, DB's, most what you need.. I bet if they ever open em one of the first posts is.... "Paul Barnett! You have to reply to this!!"
I would like to state that in no way shape or form that anything I receive from SOE influences my opinion about SWG or their company. I’m pretty much a typical average player enjoying the game. |

Yes, it actually tells you a lot about what Mythic thinks of their customers when they won't even host a tech support forum. |

Customers want a two way dialog, even if it's a GM or Dev making a two sentence post once or twice a week that they know it's a problem and they are working on it. Getiing auto responses from submitting things, reading the herald and reading Mark's pathetic blog is not enough. |

mmorpg war forums seem to be the most used by people.. guess that kinda makes theese forums the 'offitial' ones right? :) at least me and several of people i know only use this forum.

well i completely disagree with you all about there not being a forum and WAR will reach less of an audiance because of the difficulty it takes to get real help. you talk very highly of getting help from IN Game. but how about when EVERY SINGLE retail pack (AU+NZ) ships with faulty DVD's that leave an unusable Executable file. now it wasnt a big deal for me to find the answer to that problem and get it fixed but you can be sure there are HEAPS of people that will struggle to fix that one on their own. no in game support for those that cant get it working. 2nd issue with no tech support forums out of game... what about the game failing to Patch? have a read of http://www.warcry.com/forums/read/144.71838?p=1#748094 which i am having problems with. now i have tried the knowledge base and i have tried the Contact Us form on Mythics website twice and have it fail to submit. this is really poor and your views will change real quick when you find that you cant get help for your problems. i really want WAR to succeed but help needs to be reachable and overseas phonecalls are out of the question.

Honestly, what makes you think yours or anyone elses problems would be responded to any better because of an official forum?? 99.9% of game's open- forums is a cess pool of trolls and whiners. I want to be able to discuss problems, issues, bugs, tactics and such with other people, not in game but outside the game. I want to see other peoples opinion about not being able to dye your cloak and so on. And I prefer to have that forum overwatched by someone to so that it does not go out of hand. This forum is very chaotic. I want categories and threds neatly done. I like warhammeralliance, but as it's not the official thing far from everyone goes there. Just reading this thread makes you belive that either IGN is the closest thing to an official form, or This is the closest thing, or maybe the Herald or WHalliance. Nah, my opinion still stands, give us an official forum. And no I don't think that you are an idiot if you think otherwise |
