I've been playing on a med/med-high core server today, but I've been tempted to roll on one of the core RP servers just cuz they seem like they'd be more lively and have less ass-hat PC names. What does everyone think? Are the RP servers for the hardcore RPers or do any of you just like it for the naming policy?

There is ZERO RP going on unless you get into an RP guild.

RP Server = still nobody talking, people have better names....that's it.

I will disagree with the above poster. I play on Ostermark (Order) and have many times ran into other players who RP and it has been a blast. I think it is also how you approach it...ie. do you lead by example or just hope to find someone who responds in RP back to you. Lastly, I think some of the busier RP servers are actually going through some "filtering" time...ie. lots of players jumped on due to server pops. but are not RP'ing and have naming violations as well....those will be moved/removed and balance out.

Go to ostermarc then,

Avelorn and Tyr Elyr have exactly what I said.  I don't play on Ostermarc

Keeper of
the Fence

I play on Skavenblight, a RP server and with the exception of my guild there has been only a handful of moments where RP has taken place.  With all respect to WAR, it just opened up and I believe many are:

1) Trying to still understand how to play.
2) Unfamilar with the lore, and how their characters fit in the grand scheme.
3) To busy killing, defending and just having fun to set the mechanics aside for some general RP.

I would say once the huge hype and excitement dies down a little, you'll see some events pop up, as well as more RP.  Just right now, most are on cloud-9 just having fun for fun's sake.
