WAR (Warhammer Online)

What is with people not talking in this game? I'm not looking for Barrens Chat but there is literally no conversation going on in general chat, scenario chat, etc. It's really strange...

There were some good convos in Open Beta.

It's the oddest thing isn't it?  I'm guessing open parties are mostly to blame.  I've started joining them myself and people at least talk a little in them.  It's still extremely quiet overall.

What? you mean there is a game where people aren't yacking away about absolutely nothing and the are actually playing?

heck, warhammer is sounding more and more compelling each day.

I wonder how many people are like me and turn off general chat in games because it's just a steady stream of nonsense? I imagine they keep their guild chats up though which means that this might be more like Lineage 2 and less like WoW.

Apparently.  It's not really something that bothers me either.  I guess it's just a hard thing to get used to after so much time in WoW.

people are too busy bouncing in and out of scens, doing pqs, questing, crafting, and constantly DOING things to talk.  In games like wow your left with a lot of downtime and frankly just ETC time to start convos and spam.  That's why its such a big difference.

Give it a few weeks, players have stuff to do now so there is no time for chit chat :)

it was terrible, people don't even respond to PMs.  ask someone to help you with something and you won't even get a "no".  say anything in shout or general and you'll never get an answer.

this has little to do with WAR and lots to do with the community, but I still think its a huge issue.

and please god PLEASE make the NPCs in altdorf shut up.  even if people were talking you'd never see it through all that spam.

may sigmar protect you, because I sure won't do it.... thank you random guard, you've said that to me a few thousand times already.  I want a tome entry for being bugged by NPCs.

You can make cases for this being good or bad. But either way, it is very hard to make a friend or socialize in this game unless you're in a guild going in, or someone sees you "pwning" and wants you to join their super l337 guild.

Turn off Monster chat and Emotes in your chat tab to quiet the NPCs..

Mythic should have made that the default.
