OMG this is soooo funny!! "Advanced dumber CS"......ROFL!! I have been trying for weeks now to figure out WHAT IT IS that I found missing/wrong with Warhammer and I think you JUST said what FINALLY registered with me as to what I, PERSONALLY, couldn't shake. In several posts I said, "when I'm playing WAR, it isn't very immersive....it feels like I'm just simply playing a game with other people who are playing a game of PvP....it's lacking personality, or charm, or something...I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is." THAT IS what it is!! It's COUNTERSTRIKE wrapped in an MMO wrapper! They've added the fantasy setting, the questing, the public quests, the Tome of Knowledge (which is wonderful, by the way), but what they either were unABLE to add or didn't CARE to add.....was the SOUL of an MMO....the immersive living breathing sense of being a part of a fully functional world that has MUCH more happening in it than just WAR and fighting. It's Counterstrike for prior MMO lovers. LOL The people that are playing it, probably don't particularly LIKE FPS style games....but they WANT a PVP-focused game that's a little more, perhaps, than Guild Wars. This may also explain why there is so little CHAT in Warhammer. The chat in CS and CS Source, isn't the type you'd see in MMOs EITHER. Actually...if you just log in to play and don't play with people you know....there's very little "chat" to speak of. Wow. I feel this great sense of relief finally knowing how to put into words what I felt playing the game. And while this feeling may not be what EVERYONE feels when playing WAR....it PERFECTLY describes what I felt. I felt like I was playing an FPS game disguised as an MMO. People do work in "teams" to kill, but it has about as much personality and fantasy immersion to it, for ME.....as CS does.

While i appreicate your exitment about your new toy and hope it does well competition is a good thing. You are forgetting a few things. Wow works on most systems to incldue lap tops, There are some folks that love what works on their system without laying out funds to rebuild yet a noter pc. Wow even works on some ultra mini lap tops. So unless warhmarrer has really middle of the road or low end system specs that work, Na they won't touch many folks jumping ship just cause a new game is out. I do hope your game works out wonderfully well and you have a blast ! |

COME TO THE DARK SIDE... |
I'm really tired of hearing WoW fanbois rave on about the virtues of that game. Move on, evolve a bit and expand your horizons. It may not be Warhammer that does it for you, or AoC or VSoH or w/e, but at least open your mind to the possibilities of something else. Every time someone brags about how great WoW really is, i feel sorry for them. It is a dumbed down game, intentionally easy for sheep to get. And face it people. Most (not all, mind you) of that fan base are sheep. Blizzard packaged a decent product, designed for millions to enjoy, and they know you are sheep. They caught a whiff of end game turmoil and had to hurry up with an expansion before they lost it all. And all of you who stuck in there, spending hours in dungeons hoping for a tier piece (and usually not getting it), what did you get after expansion? Green drops that were better than your epics. Sad that so many are easily led by the nose... Fools. |

| Sony is the Wal~Mart of the gaming industry. They entice you to buy, only to find out when you get home that the shiny toy is poorly made & the warranty is nil. |

Well, in all honesty, WoW is basically one of, if not, the best MMO out there right now. But does that mean that all the other new MMOs are worthless? Of course not. Doesn't anyone remember what WoW was like when it was first released? Shitty. Loaded with bugs and the servers weren't always too stable. Almost any MMO sucks when it first comes out. It really takes about 6 months for enough stuff to get hammered out of it for it to really start to shine. I think that Warhammer still has a chance of matching WoW, it'll just take a while. WoW has been out for three years, and is closing in on their third expansion. Obviously it's going to have a head start quality-wise. Give it time, and I think that we'll see something usurp WoW's throne soon enough. |
