If this isn't an admission from the McCain campaign that even THEY know she's a moron who's totally out of her league as the VP nominee, I don't know what is: -------------------------- At the insistence of the McCain campaign, the Oct. 2 debate between the Republican nominee for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, and her Democratic rival, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., will have shorter question-and-answer segments than those for the presidential nominees, the advisers said. There will also be much less opportunity for free-wheeling, direct exchanges between the running mates. McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive. The wrangling was chiefly between the McCain-Palin camp and the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, which is sponsoring the forums. Commission members wanted a relaxed format that included time for unpredictable questioning and challenges between the two vice-presidential candidates. On Wednesday, the commission unanimously rejected a proposal sought by advisers to Ms. Palin and Senator John McCain of Arizona, the Republican presidential nominee, to have the moderator ask questions and the candidates answer, with no time for unfettered exchanges. Advisers to Mr. Biden say they were comfortable with either format. -------------------------- www.nytimes.com/2008/09/21/us/politics/21debate.html ROFL |

The way you guys post these anti Palin threads around here, one would assume you Libs are scared shitless of her. It's amusing to read.

I don't think many Democrats fear her at all, especially now that the post-selection and post-convention numbers have come down. Not that they are at a level I'd be comfortable with as an Obama voter, but we are back down to single digit leads in all the important polls for either McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden. Since the selection the Vice Presidential Debate has been the one thing we had to look forward to when it comes to showing how poor a choice Palin was. The only fear now is that the McCain camp is trying to rob democrats and the Country or even the World of this opportunity. Personally I saw the Gibson interview as a good preview of what we will get during the debate. The "Debate Handicap" arguement may sound fair enough, but when it comes to an election for the Leader of the Free World, I don't think we can afford to provide room for Handicaps. I don't want to see Biden rip her apart, I just want her held immediately accountable for her answers. I'm not entirely convinced she will come out of this damaged, especially since each network and channel will choose their own winner, but I want to see for myself if I have been wrong or right about her(at least when it comes to how much she knows about current events, the economy, and foreign policy). |

It was a pre-emptive attack to make sure the Obama camp can't do the same. Its a little worse for the presidential nominee to get ripped apart in back and forth then the VP. After all there is only 1 VP debate. A very cunning move on McCain's behalf to foster his advantage in the presidential race. I think a McCain-Biden debate would be way more interesting with alot of angst and fervor. A McCain-Obama debate is just feeding a sheep to a wolf. |

I guess it's all fair, since Obama's afraid to hve an open town-hall debate with McCain. |

Sounds to me like it was more of an attempt to keep Joe Biden under control who is a windbag and tends to ramble. |
