DKs will not be able to wield shield - but fear not: Crushing Blow is no longer applied for mobs/bosses who are +3 levels above you (still applies for +4 bosses though).

I'm going to play wotlk with either my priest, rogue or lock. I don't think I'll start with a DK - though I've reserved a slot for it.

Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started.

DK's will settle in and have about 1/10 the population like it should.

On the postive side, it is the 'new' class and it has a lot of cool abilities

On the negative side, it is fairly complicated to play which means dumb players will think they are underpowered.   This is kinda the opposite of Hunter/Rogue where basically everyone can figure out how to play them at max effectiveness.   Expect a lot of posts in the first month complaining that it takes too long to kill stuff as a DK.. this is the dumb players trying to spam one ability (ie sinister strike).

Tanking -  they will take a lot of Paladin tanking spots.  DKs are just as effective and easy at AOE tanking, and probably more fun then Paladin.  Warriors are not getting the buffs to AOE tanking like they were expecting, and druids only got modest gains to AOE tanking.   Expect DKs to be tanking most 5mans that have pulls with >5 mobs.

I think EVERYONE should roll one and at least play the first two levels.  THe DK starting zone is amazingly cool.

Dks are OP. i have played one...seriously. They are just OP.

they have tons of anti-spellcaster abilities, they generate abilities like rage of a warrior (runic power for certain abilities). They can heal themselves with certain passive abilities that heal them, and they dish out warrior melee damage, not including buffs/spells. They get a level 60 mount at level 55 for a quest.

DARKFALL 09!

Apparently 08 didn't make it :(

Sorros of Forumfall.

DK are strong but not OP.. they are getting plenty of nerfs before release. as for the anti spellcaster stuff, a developer said in an interview that DKs are sort of anti-spellcaster tanks.

Oh and since they are totally new class you can expect it to be really strong at start but they will be tuned for balance long long after release. jsut like every other class as long as the game is online
