Hey guys,

Well the time has finally arrived, i enlist in the Royal Australian Navy in les than 12 hours.
Thanks to all those people here who have supported me and have helped me through some tough times (Very special thanks to Draenor, Bluberryhaze and razorback)
Hopefully this is going to be the start of a very successful Navy career, and a safe one at that.

I will try to keep in touch, but im sure Recruit School will be quite short of free time, so if i dont get a chance, i will talk to you all in 11weeks, and let you know how it went.

I have already planned to follow most of the suggestions in the previous thread (although i wont be turning up hungover :P)

One last piece of advice:

Refuse to wear one of those dorky hats. I'm sure you'll gain the respect of your superiors by doing this.

 

Edit- Sorry I was thinking Army. The Navy ones are aight, but try to get promoted fast so you get a brim on the hat.

I loved my service in the Navy,  was always jeoulus of you Aussie guys having a wine mess (whatever it is you guys call it) underway in all.

 

Good luck on learning your new Navy language,  I still say Navy stuff to civilians all the time that get odd looks.
