Hi guyz .. i'm looking to buy this game but something is holding me off .. i always like playing MMO's where i can make my char look differently than others .. Games like wow with it's Big diversity of items, armor's and weapons  really appeal to me and i have been having fun in WoW but WAR seems interesting since i really like pvp ..

My question is .. is the diversity of the items, weapons and armors  as big as in wow ( meaning you got LOADS of different looking armors a single class can wear and loads of different looking weapons? And is Itemfever present in this game ?

I'm not a WoW fanboi or anything and i'm not trying to troll or start flamefest :p

Lot's of greetings

I haven't experienced what the game has to offer in end-game yet, bet I feel there is a lot more diversity in Warhammer then there is in WoW; and from the sounds of things you were really happy with the diversity you had in WoW.

First; there is a lot of diversity between the classes for each race. I think Chaos is the prime example of this with how different a Marauder looks to a Zealot. Each class for each race has different options when creating your character so you can have your own unique little look.

Secondly; the game has an option to "dye" your armour (and it's quite cheap too), so you can pick whatever colours you want your armour to look and have further customization there.

From what I've seen so far, a number of the low-levels items do use the same model and whatnot. It might bother you but as you progress I'm sure things will really open up. Hope this helps.

You can either agree with me or be wrong!

From what I read so far pretty much everyone from the same class looks *very * much alike regardless of the character creation options which are limited.

That said, a few good options which will make a difference are trophies (albeit the ones I've seen have been teeny weeny maybe you can see them under a microscope types) and probably most prominently dyes. Dyes are really going to be able to set you apart or color your guild in their own colors.

...

Well, I have always been a bit of stickler for customization and have often been unable to play games that make you all like clones.

Given that I didn't follow WAR at all and decided at the last minute to play it meant I didn't even think about that side of it.

Yes early on everyone of each class looks very alike, but they way I looked at it was as if it was some sort of race uniform . But it's not bothered me so much, maybe as a result of playing games that limit appearance like AoC, TR.

It's easy to dye your stuff different colours, and lets hope there are a good few armour sets to play with! As for WoW? Well to be fair alot of the items in WoW looked pretty awful and it was only the later pvp items and Tier sets that looked good.

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a viking to raze a village!

So... is the short answer to the OP's question "no?"  It sounds like there is very little diversity.  Is this right?  I thought I saw someone write that in later levels, the armor and weapons look really cool, but do they look the same?  If so, that's a major turnoff.

So far from lvl 1-10 I cam across 3 different armor looks....This is not too bad imo, and hope as you level this will increase.

At level 15, I am seeing absolutely no diversity. Everyone looks the same except for the colors of their armor, and trophies are essentially pointless since they are so small. Also, trophies for belts do not even work.

Yea, I got the low level shoulder trophy quest reward for my squig herder and at level 10 I still don't even have shoulder armor to put it on...

Looks like they still need to do some tweaking, but I care more about looks than diversity.

Do you really think anybody can answer that question? Considering nobody has even hit the max level yet and there's still a lot to explore.

The short term answer to the OP's answer is yes and no - depending what you're looking for. Learn to read peoples responses.

If you''re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you''re going to be locked up.

Yeah i found that  every set of armor and weapon I got looked the same.  I kinda wish that they would have used different models  for different weapons.  But oh well the game is still fun.

Playing Guild Wars. Waiting for Fallen Earth and SE new MMO.
