I read the OP and agree with it to a certain degree. I tried the WoW trial and was immediately greeted with abusive chat logs, the same style gameplay as in the majority of MMORPG's these days and ZERO immersion (immersion appeals to each person individually as everyone has their own tastes though).

@Whisperwynd : Lotro fanbois are abound, spitting venom, stomping the ground.??  don't you realise or even know that a large number of WoW Fanbois were doing the same thing for the SWG forums years ago? possibly still do today as i gave up on it when the NGE hit..  They also spout it in the forums for EVERY other MMORPG coming out..  "This game is Sh*t compared to WoW" etc etc etc over and over i see the same things.  so before you acuse the LotRo community as being trolls check the history of the community that belongs to the game YOU play.. and before you class me as a LotRo fanboi i'll inform you that i quit after a year of playing.. I'm a fanboi of no MMORPG and never will be.  i and many others play for fun and gameplay,  something which many MMORPG developers don't take into consideration. I'd also ask you this question..  HAVE YOU ACTUALLY READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE STATEMENT UNDER YOUR AVATAR?

From what i hear this "new" expansion is just a rehash of certain game features and nothign truelly new added to the game which puts in the catagory for a FREE CONTENT UPDATE not a payed expansion in my eyes.

I read the post, and fully understand, and follow what's under my avatar...and when the time comes when a discussion can be UNBIASED and CONSTRUCTIVE, I will respond in kind. Opinions are like farts, we all got 'em and they all smell differently, but when you look at the name of the poster, the message he leaves, the date of joining, and his record-breaking numbers of posts all saying the same...then no, I pay little attention to the words.

Whats date of joining or number of posts got to do with things? everyone started at some point..  don't take this as a flame as i hate flames, but... are you trying to say that only long time members of this website have the right and privilage of people listening/reading their posts? take a look at what others have said in this thread m8, more than one have stated they didn't even read all the OP so in my eyes they don't get a say no matter how long they've been a member of the site..  using intelligence and reading something before posting matters, not how long you've been a member.

@PBmark50 : Theres NO WAY you can compare LOTRO to WAR....      Who compared LotRo to War here??  WoW was mentioned not War..  *refers to my above point about reading*

I haven't compared anything to anything.  I don't look at a poster's join date PER-SE, but when combined with said posts (of which I read all of the OP's), the actual name of the poster, I get a suspicion of a troll.

If I happen to be wrong, well, it was still a fun rhyme.

Date of joining and number of post got alot to do with it. Hard to take someone serious when they start all hard and mighty with their number 1 post. The community need to know them a bit before taking then serious. Its the same on any forum you join. Get some 'streetcred' then come talk, so to speak. Another reason is that some people join, make a troll thread full of shit, then cancel their account.

Ontopic though, I kinda agree. WoW is trapped in their own success. They can't do crazy new stuff cause they got so many subscribers. If they change some of it a little drastically, they risk a shitload of people leaving the game. So they are forced to make more of the same. Face it, WotLK is TBC with some pvp thrown in for good measure. Only change mostly. 1 new class. Woop de doo. Don't mean squat. It will sell like the bloody bible though, and be a success financially. It's unavoidable. On another note, I too found those oversized weapons and armor look kinda ridicoulus when I still played. The higher the tier, the more idiotic it became Reminds me of jrpgs, with their girly men and oversized swords(compensating maybe??)
