you should NOT be able to swim in heavy armor in deep water.

if you want to get a heavy armored gang onto an enemy boat you should have to get right up to them and board them by jumping or setting up boards of wood.

If you want to jump in the water and sneak up on them you should have to be wearing medium armor tops.

i think you should be able to swim in all armor types - none, light, medium, heavy, etc but the heavier the armor the slower you swim... unless there is a swimming skill in which case it should balance out.

http://forums.darkfallonline.com/index.php

Post threads on those forums would be your best bet.

The Devs don't read these forums because they're simply crap :S

i think swimming with heavy armor or not is a decision which has already been thought through and they simply decided to allow it

i guess its just one of those things like universal banking vs seperate banks, eating and drinking or packing a ton of stuff into your backpack etc. where they had to make an unrealistic choice in favour of gameplay

youre probably saying that cause you want to play a mage or smth anyway : )

as a warrior i would be pretty pissed of if i had to take off my armor if i wanted to swim, also what happens if you get kicked into the water with full plate, do you go ship-mode and drawn? its good the way it is imo

i as well think that full plate armors should just make the player swim slower, AND THER SHOULD BE A SWIMING SKILL!!!!

MMoRpgs cannot ever be real as Real Life simply because they are not

There actually is a swimming skill in Darkfall, and I heard that it might actually be possible to never learn to swim, so in that case, it's extremely possible to drown.

But I don't agree that if you are wearing armor of the more heavy variety you should drown, I think depending on your skill at swimming, it would either slow you down or speed you up.

Are the devs reading posts on some forum that they probably aren't even members of? Yeah I'm leaning towards no (it's possible but incredibly unlikely). Try the real Forumfall if you think you'll survive it (although I wouldn't swear to anything even there).

I agree with you in principle, but I must ask, what is the reality of this situation?  I mean, let's get Michael Phelps to work on wearing plate mail until he feel comfortable wearing it and see how well he swims?  Also, didn't the Greeks believe that a 100 lbs weight drops 10% faster than a 10 lbs weight, and when they were proven wrong, they choose not to believe their own eyes?  Yes, some scientific studies are "stupid because common sense says blah" but sometimes you NEED to research the "GEE-DUH!" questions to ensure you know how physics works in that situation and not what you assume it's going to do.

I know this opinion isn't going to be very popular, so please flame away, I just ask that you criticize constructively.  thank you
