Nice blog, I'll watch the vids when I get home from work... I do have an issue however... all men know that women are a different race so the Huxley creators are correct...

Thanks for writing that blog, I found it interesting and informative. I completely agree about MMo's being stuck in a rut without much innovation. On the other hand, though, I think that developers tend to stick with "fantasy" style games because it is a proven thing. The popularity (or in their eyes, the selling power) of a game can be hindered if its set in a time or place that not all gamers want or can accept. I'm not saying that they shouldn't try something different, though, I really do agree. I'm just trying to explain what they are probably thinking. For them, it;s all about profit. :) Thanks again for the info.

I admit it...I have not read your blog entry yet! I will check it out later today. For all I know you might have arrived at a different conclusion, but perhaps not?I just wanted to share what I experienced.

I've played the Korean beta and made some videos. It's not at all like EQ2 or WOW. Erase all of that thinking from your mind. It's like Unreal Tournament 3 with some PvE type mobs thrown in. There is PvP too, obviously. It is a graphically beautiful game (beta) with a trace of potential. Overall, I think it is safe to say that it is a fairly mediocre game with pleasing eye candy.

PvP combat = bunny hopping a ton. You just jump or crouch. Don't expect to use any kind of realistic tactics, it is more of an arcade shooter than a tactical shooter. Not that anyone expected it to be SWAT 5 but it's very simplistic in that regard.

I am one of those people who have been tracking this for several years. I bet that  99% of those who are looking forward to this game are going to find something that is completely different than what they've built up in their mind.

I was not all worked up over it, I just didn't think it would be Unreal Tournament 3 badly disguised as an MMO.
