Hi people I've been playing the game now for 2 days (servers down atm) so I'd tought I'd share my experience with you. So far I've only one char: a dwarf runepriest rank 14 (rank 13 renown)

Graphics
While the overall game setting (orcs ,humans, elves) looks alot like WoW, the graphics are alot different. WoW had a much more cartoony feel to the game. In WAR its more serious and more realistic. Which is nice for a chance. The downside is that you'll need a good graph card to enjoy WAR to it's fullest.

Gameplay PvE
The overall combat is alot the same like WoW, LoTRo,.. like so many mmorpgs! Indeed it is perhaps slightly slower, but I hardly noticed it. There are tons of quests for PvE in the game. Some will even bring you in RvR territory which can be exciting.

A cool thing are the PQ's, which are alot of fun, with some good rewards, trust me! Another good thing is that you can join any group anywhere. If you enter a new zone you can see all the 'open groups' and simply join them in whatever they are doing.

Gameplay PvP (scenario's)
The scenario's are really cool, and I think they are by far more popular then open field RvR, well that is for the Tier 1 and 2 zones. I don't know about higher lvl. There are for each Tier zone a different scenario you can play, these are very different from each other which makes it fun!

Also I find doing scenario's one of the more fun and faster ways of getting exp and ofcourse renown. A downside is that you can't walk trough other ppl while in PvP. This can get really frustrating, I wish they'd change that.

Crafting
Well I am a butcher and an apothecary. Butchery is quite easy, it's a simple gathering skill like skinning in WoW. Apotecary is harder, since you have to experiment with your ingredients. I don't really see alot of point in crafting, perhaps later on for money making, I don't know, but it's quite boring atm.

Tomb of Knowledge
I really like this, it's kinda like your deed log from LOTRO. Only alot more deep! It tracks all the things you kill, do, find, ... It also contains lore and other fun facts! In the beginning it was kinda hard to find your way in it, because it was so huge! But after a while you get used to it :)

Other Aspects
Well let's see, the UI is quite common. You can chance alot of it, so you won't be needing lots of addons I think. The warband icons of your allies are to small imo to heal them properly.
One thing I'd like to add is that 'windowed mode' is not available for this game, which is imo a huge dissapointment. Because I normally play mmo's in windowed mode so I can check my internet at the same time and switch back fast.

Ah well I guess I'll leave it here. All in all, a good game! Some minor things that need fixing imo, but lots of great potential to become a great mmo!

I cancelled my preorder due to the beta, however I can say that the beta 100% had a windowed mode option. If i remember it was a fullscreen yes/no tickbox in the graphics options from the main menu.

Surely they havn't taken the option out? I play every game windowed you see, if it isnt windowed, i dont play it.

This is an intentional strategic element designed for pvp.  It is supposed to frustrate.  I can't see any reason why this would ever change as it is working as intended and adds to overall gameplay.

Other than that I agree with most everything else.

Windowed mode can be invoked one of two ways:

1. Uncheck the 'Fullscreen' option for User Settings

2. At any time, you can press Alt + Enter to force the game to window mode, or back again

Works like a charm.

Well I've ofcourse noticed the option to play it in windowed mode (you'd have to be blind to miss it) , but the problem is , it simply doesn't do anything. I can't change the resolution of the game either. It has only one choice..

I'll guess I'll try that alt+enter thing to be sure!

are you kidding...???

right above the fullscreen check box there are 2 resolution options. One for windowed and one for fullscreen.....i have these set at different resolutions for when i am playing windowed or full. and my options range from 800x600 to 1650x1050.

Me thinks you may not have your vid card set properly or something.

You have to change the resolution in the window mode. It is set to the default full screen size. If not it still works when you alt tab and doesnt give you the refresh rate error of the black screen error a full screen gets.

The resolution won't change for me in game either. Since it hasn't done it since beta when they had the graphics locked to 'medium', I just figured we were still in beta until launch when they /might/ unlock the full graphics.
