Agreed, you do not need to raid to have a character properly geared, u can get the armour pieces from different sources, the latest one just by helping people doing epic (main story line quests) in wich the reward are some sort of barteable item for your dessired "writ" of the armor you like. Also you can be perfectly geared by crafting (yes!!, crafting is actually a usefull thing), it involves hard work to get a mastery on every crafting tier, but it is perfectly doable. and also thres a los of world drops/quest items that actually make a more than perfect end game (so far lvl 50) gear. I'm 100% with the PvP, it needs some work, and still, im in the moors every time i can, i'm just addicted to that place, i do some pve, run some errands, help people and then sooner or later i end up figthing in there. MoM expansion will improve certain aspects of pvp, although i think noone knows exactly what the dev team has under their sleeves. Ther's one thing about the hotspots and some sort of side balancing buff but, other than that they haven't said anything and keeping in secret who knows what. I'm def looking forward for the expansion as a whole, not just for moria . Namarië |

Please do think a lil bit what you write down, your wasting some server hard drive capacity with junk like that. P.s.: pssst...pssst, ther's people who doesn't like to pvp at all, nor to play online and they are still gamers and do play games. |

WAR is a completely different style game then something like LotR and odds are if you like anything along the lines of LotR, the EQ sisters, VG or anything like that, you are not going to dig WAR. Its less RPG and more action / shooter style with some RP elements and mechanics. That's pretty much what they (devs) have been saying all along. So "how many left" is dependent on your playstyle Look at Fallen Earth. IMHO, this is worth keeping an eye on. I also think Star Trek might turn out decent mainly because Crypic is making it now.

Well just finished downloading the game and I must say it's great to be back. Mind you, I wasn't around for very long the first time around, as at the time I was trying out a whole bunch of MMO's at once. Anyway on my new system, the graphics are really amazing. With DX10 and AA enabled, I am extremely impressed with the look of the game. The developers have really out-done themselves. It definately looked good when I first tried it but after not playing for a year and diving back in the game, im really excited now hehe. At the moment just really loving the atmosphere and to me the game doesn't feel as linear as some other MMO's. By the way thanks to the people who replied to my question and yes I chose to join Windfola server so hopefully see you there! Im really hoping this game will last me quite some time as I'm having a blast. With this as well as Guild Wars and EVE, I definately wont even bother trying WAR, even though I'm sure it's a great game. Also big thanks to Solareus as it's thanks to him I decided to give the game another go. :) |

And the fact that you say there is no one out there until level 50 anywhere...wrong again..well not really wrong, just more of a lie. Lotro is going to be around for a while and is a good game, people are always going to try something else out. A lot come back. Just like a lot of the MP'ers on BW left for AoC and WAR, guess what, many have come back and they are playing lotro for pretty much the PvP aspect only. People who enjoy PvE have even more to look forward to in the game. "It is easier to be cruel than wise. I agree, it really depends on the server and timezone you are playing in. Most servers will have a pretty decent population during the peak hours (afternoon/evening EST)...so protoroc, if you are having trouble finding a group, it might actually be your playtime, TBQH. I'm on Elendilmir (some say it's the second most populated), the unofficial oceanic server, and there are quite a bit of people on at all hours, with of course a lot during peak. But regardless, some dub it the server that doesn't sleep. Really I would suggest trying different servers, you might be surprised with what you will find. |

I am online right now, on Brandywine. It Esteldin, it is quite populated. There is no truth to that statement of no fellowships, from this viewpoint. |

If WAR seems to be solid after say 6 months or so, I might give it a shot. Glad I didn't buy AoC, seemed like it would be great, and it has turned out to be crap. Got burned on PotBS, looked good, bought it, played for a month.....then most everyone else left. Servers merged....ugh. Until there is a quality game released, I'll stick with LotRO.If I get burned out, I'll play a f2p until I get that itch again. Only game since SWG years ago (hard to believe NGE was almost 3 years ago) that has me coming back. It's got that kinda "world sim" feel that made SWG a winner. Still could use some improvements (get rid of housing hooks, more PvMP areas, would be great in later expansions to see siege engines usable by players), but all in all is the best thing out there for me.Plus, you don't NEED to raid the same couple dungeons over and over to get good gear. You can do very well with all crafted gear if you have to. Add a few raid type/epic quest pieces (Elronds cloak from bk 12, weapon from 13, ect.) and you'll be doing great. |

Hello Kitty ---> that way LotRO was great but not having the OPTION of pvp factional or otherwise really bumps it down a few notches on my belt and many other peoples as well. Now before you go flamin all upset and the like realize that there are a whoooooooole lotta people out there that like to pvp in their mmo's. If LotRO had a pvp server I might have given it more of a shot. No big deal just a couple bucks they wont get from me and others like me. |

I really don't see how a pvp server would work with LOTRO. I mean, unlike most other games, there is only one faction, unless you want to implement monster play throughout the entire gameworld. But then you would have to implement a leveling system for the monsters, unless you want a whole slew of level 50 creeps running through the shire ganking newbies. And I do realize that people like PVP in their mmo's, don't get me wrong. Yet, on the other hand, for most MMO's, you have to go through PVE to even experience the most out of PVP. Hence, most people would undoubtably agree that PVE is the defacto first thing that usually goes with an MMO, not PVP. |
