And I agree that condoning what they have done, paying your monthly sub (especially if you don't log in) just gives game publishers permission to pull these kinds of stunts again.

Right, blame the consumer that's always the logical response. This is a patch that is bringing PVP xp, why would anyone be playing simply just for that? People pay to play, because there's something they enjoy about the game. With that in mind how are they doing anything wrong by paying if they enjoy it?  What's acceptable to them obviously isn't for you, however saying that puts you on a higher moral ground is beyond idiotic.

At first I had to question the vagueness of the information, however another poster already pointed out the problems they're having with the patch on testlive. If this patch breaks my profession (ranger), I'm quite content with them holding back on releasing it. Now explain to me how that makes me dense?

The problem with the patch for me is there trying to hard to stop ganking. The things they implemented to stop ganking created a far superior reverse ganking meaning people can now intentionaly flag you as a murderer (It doesnt take to much effort on the gankers part honestly) and then grief you for rewards. Before you would get ganked but not loose anything lol now your still going to be ganked just in reverse and have the chance to loose items while being ganked lol. Anyways doesnt matter for me really AoC is way to carebear. Before a flame attempt comes my way I just mean the PvP is far to carebear my idea of PvP is full loot pvp anywhere no safe zones and no I don't play a ganker or griefer I just enjoying hunting them down.

Well with the patch delayed beyond the Warhammer launch and Warhammer having sold 1.5 million copies in pre-order alone - i would say that there won't be too many people playing AoC over the next week.

And god forbid, if people actually have FUN in the first week of Warhammer (and don't hit the level cap), a lot might not be bothered when the patch finally does hit AoC.

as if Warhammer launching at the end of this week wasn't bad enough for FC...

Bet Erling Elingson etc feel like someone just shat in their cornflakes lol.

for the lazy peeps here:

Wrath of the Lich King has just been given an Official release date by Blizzard:

13th of November 2008.

how many of those "400k" subs do you reckon will still be around when Wotlk goes live... and whats worse, the xpac's pre-patch including new talents, haircuts, and the new proffesion will presumably go live very soon - they are on the PTR now.

Not to be a downer, but does anyone really care anymore?

All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.

The only honest solution at this point would be to clearly DEFINE what issues they are having with the patch, and to inform the paying customers what they are DOING to fix it.

The major problem with the patch is that it breaks the combos for 2 or 3 classes (barbarian, ranger and it seems also guardian). The combos are broken due to some delay and sometimes the next move in the combo doesn't work.   (there are also some other smaller bugs, but nothing as important as this one).

They are now working on this and we should know tomorrow if we will get a patch this week or not (they say they are still aiming for patching this week).

Spoiler: it won't be out this week.

LOL isnt a spoiler suppossed to surprise you?

Indeed Sir, but lets face it, all FUNCOM has left is the attempt at a spoiler!

IF this is true, as I wouldnt know, I uninstalled this hunk of garbage right after I deleted my CC info on the accounts page, FUNCOM really really should just pull the plug and admit utter failure.

Wasnt all this stuff this guy is describing as broken even now, promised on the BOX at launch 4 months ago?

Actually he is sort of right here malickie.  I mean they still have my money and I never logon.  I cant even go to the forums since about 2 minutes after deleting my CC info, I was summarily banned for LIFE..... You have been banned: ban will be lifted when: NEVER. Fanbois as forums mods - wow there is an idea!

MMO 101: Never let the player base patrol your forums! Its roughly the same thing as giving small children guns and badges and expecting some good to come out of it!
