If you find this game worth an extra days pay, then it's money well spent.  For me, spending $50 on the game, then losing $140 to play it is not even worth considering lol.  But if it's worth it to you, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.

You must be a boss. You have probably been lied to. It probably makes it hard for you to sleep at night, such poor self esteem. You wanted to be the good guy but realized that people still treat you like crap simply because you're the boss. You're the enemy to everyone who has to work beneath you.

No, im not a boss. I'm at the very bottom, I have nobody under me, so you can't get any lower. I work as a ASP/.NET programmer.

If you want to play a game, then say it as it is. I have done that a few times and my boss have always accepted that. If you just say it in advance you can always plan around it, so it won't hurt the company. You don't even have to say it to play. I just say I want that day off and he says "no problem".

You are in serious need of "workmorale". You are the type of person who thinks it's ok to drink 20 beers on a sunday evening and call in sick monday. If you even have a job I'm guessing you'll be fired very soon, and the company won't be missing you, since you never do anything anyway.

LYING IS WRONG... Nomatter who you do it to. (Unless you work as an undercover spy).

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional.

I wouldn't bother to call in sick - just would take a day off, except I am onsite out of town at a client's all week.   So I'd have to be pretty deathly ill not to go in to work since they flew me out here and are putting me up in a hotel all week. Doh.

On the flipside, I shouldn't gripe about a free vacation. I just want to play WAR!!

How much do you get paid if you get $140 in ~32 hours/4 days? o.0

Dear god chill out.. Calling in sick is not a federal crime and to be honest.. Alot of people in the US cant just "Take a day off" They would get reprimanded or fired.. So calling in sick is the way they get that ability..
When you work 51 weeks a year and get 6 holidays that you get extra pay for but still have to work..
Just be grateful you are privileged and don't pass judgment on others you know nothing about.

How anyone can be so condescending..

Coincidentally, I was already taking off tomorrow for a doctor's appointment... so I'll have until late morning to cram as much WAR as humanly possible. =D

Any word on an official SE launch time (US - EST)?

Friendly Fire - Isn''t.
Don''t draw fire; it annoys the people around you.

Eh, calling in sick? I'll survive. I figure I'll let all the servers' populations fill out and see how the Order/Destro balance is. Just another way to push off my decision of what exactly I want to play as.

Don't draw fire. It irritates the people around you.

Friendly fire - isn't.

When in doubt empty the magazine.

I'd be considering it if I wasn't working on an important task at work...

Hmm my boss might be reading these forums...

I wouldn't ever do such a thing, ever.  I am a good dedicated worker yessir.

Pity I can't play WAR while at work.  By the time I got it downloaded and installed I'd probably be done for the day and on my way home to play.

I'm an older gamer.  A supervisor.  I have no one to call sick into.  So, I told everyone I will be out tomorrow.

I remember when WoW started...I also remember thinking "I should have taken the next day off instead".

Posted this about being sick on another thread...it fits better here....

If one of my guys came to me and said, "Sarge, I really need to be off tomorrow. There is this cool new game starting and I would like to play all day" I would most likely say "go for it".

Problem is, most of my guys have "killed" their grandmothers, their spouse's grandmothers, had their families have Ebola, flooded basements, roofs leaking, pregnant wives having "problems", religious issues (one guy converted to Muslium when he found out about Ramadan).

Point being, Bosses know calling in sick is usually 50% just that. the other is what we call "Calling in Slick"

Well, it's certainly better than "I got a job interview."

This is the huge downside of capitalism and what it does to people. You're condemned for wanting to take some personal time to enjoy something major like a huge game release, or a friends wedding, or anything for that matter. Heaven forbid you not want to be a slave to the work place your entire life.

Life is more than "working."

Fuck corrupt societies.

Nothing is perfect :)
Capitalism has just as many flaws as communism. People just choose what they want to see. This society would've already fallen had we not socialized, school, police, fire dept, etc

I believe it takes a good mixture of both to correctly function :D

I know we have it prety good here in Danmark (yes I'm danish). We get 5 weeks of paid vacation and some also get 1½ extra day off each 3 month. For a total of 6 weeks paid vacation + about 10 holidays. But calling in sick when you are not is still WRONG!!

Probably the saddest post I've seen in a while, and it wasn't even a troll post.

You will wake up one morning in 10 or 20 years and realize that life has passed you by, while you were studiously going to work every day and getting early nights to be bright and fresh at work the next morning.

Here is a news flash fennec - noone cares if you work or not. Noone cares if you take 1 sick day or 20 sick days. The only person you should be concerned about is yourself, and enjoying your life. If you don't look out for yourself and make sure you are grasping every opportinuty to live life to the fullest, who is going to do it for you? Your boss?

Wake the f*** up.

And call in sick for once in your life. It's liberating.

I'm lucky...I have 'no questions asked' personal days. As long as it's an hour before my shift, I don't have to give any reason other than, I'm not coming in...period!

*cough* I'm not feeling well tonight *cough*
