Actually, most of Wows PVP wasn't in from start and appeared a few months after Guildwars release. But Wow didn't bring so much new things, it stole the good things from other games and made a succesful game with that. Just like most other game companies are doing now with wow. Wow was also perfect in time, have brilliant concept art and an amazing way to get new players who never before played an MMO. Blizzard do know what they are doing, few other companies have made so many succesful game as them (even though I never liked their expansions for some reason, they make a brilliant game and a crappy expansion). Wow is however getting very old and it is time for something completly new, something that can do what games like Half-life, Diablo, Starcraft, Baldurs gate, Neverwinter nights, Doom and so on did for their game types once upon a time... But what it is? Who knows. Maybe Blizzards next game will be something totaly new, or maybe Bioware or someone else will make it but Wow have contributed a lot to the genre, like UO, Meridian 59 and EQ did before it (and maybe the first Linage too). |

Quit worrying about other players in a game and just play. |
Well it may not have brought anything technical to the genre, but it did bring a few million new people *grins* Venge Sunsoar |

Come to think of it, even TV networks do it with viewers. just because it's on, doesn't mean you're watching it, yet they still count you.

Whats the point of introducing 10 Million new players to the MMORPG scene when 5 million of them are Chinese gold farmers? I also forgot to mention the majority of the other 4-5 million are immature little brats? Not all WoW players are stupid but WoW did introduce a lot of the 'stupid crowd' to the MMORPG scene. Of course, though, WoW did do good, it's the reason there are so many MMORPG's around today. As most WoW players tend to 'look for more' after a year or two in WoW. It's also produced a pretty good South Park episode, that's something no other MMORPG has done. Tried: WoW |

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! You have produced the most Ill-informed, racist and generally offensive post i have seen in a long time!! ....and in such a small paragraph too, good work! It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

It's racist to say that the majority of Gold Farmers are from Asia, oh, I thought it was truth. And it DID introduce the stupid crowd to MMORPG's. I'm willing to forgive it though, I liked that South Park episode. Tried: WoW |

Actually, I stated the MAJORITY of the half of non-Asian WoW players are immature. It's quite accurate, for every good person you know who plays WoW there is typically a few retards. Why are you guys attacking me, I'm on your side! Tried: WoW |

OK, i'll bite, just link me to your evidence to substantiate your statements as 'truth' or fact? ....oh, good call on the "for every good person you know who plays WoW there is typically a few retards." statement too, if you missed offending anyone with your previous post, you probably got them with that one! It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

WOW was Awesome in my eyes ! I was there when they had stress test ! I was there when they Open up the servers day 1 ! I was there up to May 2008 ! Why did i leave WOW ? Reason is that its become a gear base game, and It just lost the luster in my eyes after we got was Areans and Twinks in Battle ground. I wish everyone just pick a game that makes you happy ! It's your money ! Just stop this hate, were all gamers looking for a place to call Home! Don't matter what game you play, I will respect that ! So i Salute you all !

Actually, WoW brought alot in terms of control to the market.
LoS Requirements on Spell Casting, Target-Over Spell Casting...
They brought Abilties to Warriors, who previously were only Auto-Attack + Taunt.
They brought a combo system to rogues.

It did bring something. The blizzard name, easy easy questing. "Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one ..." - Thomas Paine |

if nothing else they did bring a more casual game where others before it required you to quit your job and live in your parents basement just to lvl up. other games prior to it REQUIRED you to group just to lvl up.needing a group to do dungeons and what not is one thing, needing a full group to lvl grind sucked, you did get to know people alot better that way but it sux when you wanna play your dmg dealer and can't get a damn group. |

Wow brought nothing but a collection of good ideas and put them into 1 game. I would say that brought a lot to gaming. Because of them we are getting higher and higher quality (at least attempts) to make better games. I plan on playing WAR but i wont turn my back on wow as you cannot disput 10.9 million subs no matter where they come from. |

Agreed, WoW was (and is) a good game, a collection of existing ideas wrapped up in the Warcraft mythos and well marketed, WAR/AOC/EQ2 etc will not change that fact. There is now a huge (and expanding) fan base of MMORPG's that other games can draw on. |
