Spoiled rotten folk don't know good they got it. "WAAA A QUEUE IN A VIDEO GAME, MY LIFE IS HORRIBLE!"
Why is this concept difficult? Seriously? Is it annoying, sure. But it's how things work out. you are NOT that special, the queue isn't there as a personal insult, nor is it "bad practice" on Mythic's part. You open too many servers, you get hosed with regards to a robust population. Open too many and find they don't fill enough to justify the cost... you get hosed. Costs / Profit Risk / Reward All have to equal financially smart or you're a fool. That's life in the real world kiddies. That's how companies make money. Can't deal with that, start your own game comapny and "show em how it's really done!" Otherwise, shut yer traps and accept life isn't always fair. Always change your signature. |

Unbelievable people accept this kind thing. A queue of any length should be totally unnacceptable. You have paid to play this game, not to sit in a queue. If it costs the company more to have you not sit in a queue than the profit they are making than that is their problem and should not effect the customer. I can't understand what the world is coming to when people willingly part with their money for unacceptable service and then make excuses for the company responsible. |

They have "experts" being paid several hundred thousand a year to solve problems like this, I am not one of them. |

Very few MMOs have this problem in my experience. Sounds like poor planning to me. And yes, some players will defend a company no matter what their problems are. I learned that with the AoC fanboys. Every game has them, and they usually end up hurting the game they're trying to defend in the long run. |

Yes I understand that but the OP is defending them regardless of whether this is the case or not. |

You pay to have an enjoyable experience in WAR. They are doing everything they can to ensure you have an enjoyable experience once you are in the game. I'm pretty sure they do not want to have queue's, I'm sure they have very valid, intelligent and more then likely very good reasons created by people being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If this is the best option to ensure a stable, enjoyable and great experience, then that's how it is.
As for claims of piss poor planning or other equally inane comments, consider the following tidbit of wisdom: Either you are correct, and Mythic has dropped the ball, or they have know something we do not, YOU do not about their servers, their population controls, balancing and the like.
I'm gonna give them the ball here and assume they KNOW what they are doing. Their money, their future is riding on WAR. I think they know more then some kid in a garage or basement making comments on a forum. Always change your signature. |

I would like to state that in no way shape or form that anything I receive from SOE influences my opinion about SWG or their company. I’m pretty much a typical average player enjoying the game. |

Mythic is doing what they have to in order to keep starting zones thin enough to be playable and to keep the population in check. CE headstart isn't the entire population of WAR. It's a very small percentage of it. If Mythic opened up all their servers for a small percent of the population, there would be more problems and annoyances than what you are facing right now. Let Mythic do their thing, they know what they are doing. |

I did not say that they have dropped the ball as there are servers with no queue. If you have so little value for money that you are willing to pay people to NOT provide a service then I can only assume that it is not your money. I don't care if it's 1p or £100,000 it is not acceptable to charge people and then not provide what they are paying for. If this is your attitude I suggest that next time you can save some of the planets resources and just shovel your money into a fire.

WoW had massive queues the first year =), popular MMO's will have queues thats about it, there is no systeme in the world that will allow massive connection in a short period, it will crash the servers period. Queues is the planning guys =) ever heard of DDoS attacks ? and how they workds ? |

bdops, I value every penny I spend. However, I am not egocentric as to assume I know what is going on.
I paid Mythic 160 dollars to provide my wife and I a great experience. To that end, so far they have delivered. I was fast enough (read smart) to avoid the onslought of players I knew would be rushing into the game and got my 3 hours of WAR goodness in before I was cruelly foreced to attend to work. A job I might add so dull I have the time to spend here... posting.
That's aside the point, even if I had hit queue's I would not have been overlly bothered. It's basically a pre-launch launch. I KNOW they have done everything they can to make this work. I know my game play today was 110% smoother then it was in Beta or Open Beta. I KNOW they want to have every one of us blaring out how great WAR IS!
I'm a practical kinda guy, I realize a company is in it for the $$ and they make that $$ by making us happy the best way they can.

The max queue i saw an hour ago was 100 people, and there was only a total of 5 queues out of the what 30 + populations (each server has 2 , 1 more order 1 for destr). So well queues are not a problem and never have been for the war release , only the very slow ever had a problem.
