Seriously.

I tried all the healing classes followed by squidge herder & dwarf tank, tried some of the healing classes to lvl 6/7. Something was really missing, a lack of dps or this feeling that you're just waiting to die. Booted up white lion and I was killing lvl 3s as a lvl 1. At lvl 4 I hadn't even seen a career trainer and I was soling lvl 5s.... this is all in RvR btw.

The pet tracking is fixed.

The DPS is through the roof.

You can take enough punches to win a 1v1.

And the funny thing is, that's not enough to get me to play one, because I'm so anal about pets, that I hate the fact that your lion pet changes every time you summon it. When the character supposedly tamed a lion, and when I named the lion, I don't expect it to be a different lion every damn time.

That's my only major problem with them, and it's big enough for me to not play one. :P

Man, that's just sad.

Squig Herders seem like the best pet class in the game. I was usually in the top 3 damage for my team in every scenario. Usually if the team was bad I was at #1. I also found it awesome that I was doing so much damage, I have become known to the other side as a first kill person. My friend who played Order Side on the same server said when they would join a scenario and I was in it, the leader would plain out tell them, kill MISTAWHA and we win. I love the class trully. The tank pet can actually tank and the rest have nice added bonus's for them being out.

I was really excited about this class and couldnt wait to play one.  Although they are pretty tough, I dont think alot of ppl will play it.  First off, dont tell me the tracking is fixed because I lost my pet quite abit and had to recall.  Second, I agree with the other person that everytime you rez your pet...its a different one.  I want a pet from day one that is the same all the way to 40.  Also, although they are pretty decent,  I think quite a few classes can still tear through them.

There's a point, it would be cool to have different versions of the lion and everyone gets one at start which he then keeps (just like petnames for the warlock in WOW). But indeed, if you're into the RPG part of the game having a companion that looks different every time is a serious drawback.

The one complaint I have about the White Lion is that, apparently, you cannot rename your pet. If there is a mechanic in place to do so neither I nor any other White Lion I’ve seen has figured it out. Honestly, at least at early levels, every War Lion out there looks alike and a name would help me recognize my pet when he’s onscreen with other War Lions. It also deepens the virtual bond with the pet. I’m hoping that this mechanic has simply not yet been implemented

I guess that's why I thought they're weak, played a black orc, same level ones hardly scratched.

Don't play a class unless you enjoy their mechanics, because theres always a chance that any class could be nerfed.

Don't pick a class because they are powerful, pick a class because you enjoy it.

I think if you choose White Lion, you should be given a choice to customize your lion immediately after, or with, your guy, or maybe even hold off on the lion in general until around level 5 or so, when you do a couple quests to get one, and get the one you want from the wilderness or something.

There is a slash command you can type in the chat window to rename it, but currently no interface control. Im sorry i dont remember what the exact syntax was but it was something like /petname.

If someone else doesn't know it, there is a command list through the chat interface that lists all the slash commands... its definitely in there. Right click on a chat tab, somewhere in there is the command list...

Sorry for the vagueness.

white lions dont seem to scale well.  They get a huge dps boost when their pet gets the guardian buff, however that lasts for only so long. Healers eventually out heal depending on how they play, tanks like the black orc do just as much dps as you do and dont even feel you hitting them.

Its a fun class, but its not easy to  play as you lvl up. Its not the most popular class for a reason. Its smarter to go tank or roll marauder for destruction. Even a Melee specced Shadow Warrior is on par with the white lion, as they have a buff that gives them 100% more armor, making them a medium armor melee class with a back up bow for ranged dps.

Dont get me wrong, i love the WL, but its not all that good and does require more skill to play as you lvl up.

im a sorc, so suck 1 on 1 (unless its a BW then its a fair fight) so fear most classes 1 on 1, but prob the white lion more then others, 2h swordmasters are nasty 2. least till lv 14 when a got a snare to go with my root & detaunt skills gave me better deffensive capabilities

Something like that happened to me with other class...

I also played some clases and an egineer till level 7... and i didn't feel i did enough dps...then i tried the Sorceress and BAM! i was doing 200 in a crit at level 1! And the more you use your spells more crits and bigger they get.

Building up is fast enough at level 2 and the backlash is joke. At level 4 making 400 crits ever 4 seconds or so

I just don't get why did i suck so much with the engineer

I play a WL and I love it. DPS actually is amazing, but it really doesn't matter without a healer to back you up. The only thing we are good for is using charge to get to points in scenarios faster, DPS, and thats about it. We don't have any stuns (well at least up to level 20), we can't heal, and I believe 2 of 3 morale 4 abilites suck compared to other classes.

Oh and we can't win 1v1 against black orc, thats for sure. If you want a straight up DPS class that relies on pet for a portion of it, then WL is for you. If you want a class that is useful for anything else but DPS, look elsewhere. There is some skill with the WL and the pet stances you choose. If you are good enough then you can juggle your pet stances so it can snare, dot, taunt, but it takes some work.
