 Problem is your hyping it without ever having played/beta'd it. In other words you could be lying as you don't know that any of the statements your making to Hype the game are true. Yes you want them to be true, you might even believe them to be true but you have no proof. This unfortunately doesn't stop you from making statement you would like to be true as fact

   As you said you "really want people to try DF out" however reposting what the Devs say as fact without any proof makes you look alittle sad. Though I admit not as bad as the fans making up statements like "The game play is incredable" when no one here has actually played/beta'd the game.  The whole "This is the greatest game ever! What no, no I haven't played the game but I saw a video/read the Faq and Its the greatest game ever!" mentallity is probably what gets me the most.

I don't believe this is true.  I believe the MMORPG crowd wants to see DF extremely badly, but has been let down over and over with empty promises and lack of observable evidence to the existence of DF.  I think the "crowd" just wants to see the game released and is sick and tired of waiting, resulting in a negative outlook on DF. 

I'm sure the gear obsessed, level-based carebears have a little of resentment for DF because they fear anything that doesn't allow you to play a game with little due regard for their characters life.  In other words, they can't just run in a dungeon and die with no consequences because in games like DF they just don't fit in due to the risk/reward systems.

I've never been a player of shitty looking mmos. But I have to say this game looks fun and will give it a shot. Honestly graphics are on par with warhammer and the gameplay is not for slow retarded fucks that needs 10 sec to react.

 You do know there was a thread stating "Darkfall is coming" on these very boards. It was dated Sept of last year. At the time the fans swore up and down just as they do now. that the game would be out by the end of the year or early 2008.

  Sorry i just can't buy your hype anymore. Darkfall may indeed be coming the question is will it be in any of our lifetimes. Still no UI shown in the video's (how eaxactly are they "playing" the game?) and no real media has seen it. (well there was one guy this year "yellowbeard" that said he saw it, and one guy last year think it was "ash" or some guild leader.) Yet the fans spout that "Lots" and "Many" have seen it, and that its "Coming" as well as it has "amazing game play" Lol wonder when they played it, and of yeah "its as sandboxy then SWG ever was" Once again all these truths seem to have come from the recent video, and the fact 2 people have reported they have actually seen it. No I'm not forgetting some greek magazine supposibly saw it and the really old report from womens gamers from a few years back

  Vaporware? No I'm not saying that (never have) Greatest game ever? personally I'd not say that from what little info / videos have been released, but do wish you fanbois the best of luck. If DF is great it might be a shot in the arm to all MMO's ( plus all the gankers, and griefers will have a game to play ) 

To be fair, some UI has been shown.

You get to see the buy/sell ui. Backpack/paperdol ui. Position /target sensitive mouse cursor. I believe some sort of general UI is also there in the buy/sell section of the video on the left. It's usual to turn such UI off for gameplay videos and screen shots.

How is that a problem?  The whole point of the hype meter is to measure people's excitement about an future game.  That is why the hypemeter is created for a game the moment the game is listed on MMORPG.com.  The User Rating that replaces the HYpemeter upon a game's release is designed to measure people actual experiences with the game.

The hypemeter is so that idiotic fanboys can rate other games 1 and get all their fellow idiotic fanboys to do likewise, whilst knowing bugger all about it.

I gave Huxley and Fallen Earth 10's as well.

However, shit like Aion and Chronicles of Spellborn fall into the 1 category for me.

I imagine it isn't an issue of forumfallers maliciously giving games 1's, but there just being no games worth giving a higher rating on the charts at the time.

I agree it is twits like that that will push potential players away but hey let em keep saying ""dont play then go play WoW e.t.c"" cause when this game does release the rate they are going no 1 will be playing cause of the lack of a mature Community.

I did it to piss the OP off.  Like I stated, normally I would give this game a 6 for various reasons (OUTDATED!!11oneandstuff!!), but hey, I am just a ass ;)

I launched a "1" as well.

When a hype meter jumps like that...its indicative of people making lots of new accounts to force the numbers high.  Can't agree with that kind of stuff.  So I just use my little ole' single account to counter it.  The best part is....we don't even need to try that hard to undo all of that "Fanboy" assault stuff.  It only needs to drop .02 points to fall of the list.

My last rating was actually a 6.

I agree too. Some guy here was hoping for my death. In an indirecte way, but just reading him mentioning I could die because I was so stupid, just because I made a joke about the probabilities of a certain feature being present in this stupid game, was very impressive. Really sick people here.

And the DF official forums are no better. I have seen people telling someone to stick "broken glass..." I will spare you the details.
