Like many people, I preordered AoC and quit playing it two weeks later. I've now come back to give it another try, and the game runs much smoother than before. I am having great fun with the combat as well.

I tried WAR and couldn't dig it... the combat is horrific. Anyhow, I just wanted to leave a positive review in a sea of negativity I see all over the place for this game. The game still has bugs and needs work, but I am now finding it worth the money to play.

Good for you, personally I may wait for the PvP patch before I come back, most MMO's need about 6 months after launch to straighten out.

 Id go back too after the PVP patch just to check it out... tho I sudder when I remember that I have to wear generic armor 59145 on my lvl 80 HoX,I have a lvl 80 ToS too ... but meh I was bored when I played with him.

 What is killing the game is FC's incompetence to release content and promised stuff on time and still seems they havent figured out what "to prioritise" means.I actualy had fun the first time I played it with my HoX since I met afew people and we lvled togheter.

I was on the way to give up WAR almost instantly aswell. But in difference from AoC it actually gets better the further in it you play. When you start getting a few lvls so you have more skills and spend more time leveling in scenarios than questing it's getting alot of fun.

Hope you also find a nice guild to with players to team with. A post in your server forums would take care of that if you miss out on the reqruitmentposters in-game:)

And as a bonus: pvp patch is schedueld next week with new armour and gems are getting huge nerf(they were op we all know.):)

Same here. I left AoC 2 months ago after my first 30 days and didn't want to resub before the promised features are delivered.

But then came WAR and it made me resub to AoC    After playing WAR for 1 day I was so bored I couldn't bring myself to login anymore. I resubbed AoC, rolled on a PvP-RP server and now I couldn't stop playing for 1 week ; with the new pvp system being patched in next week I now see myself staying for a long time in this game. I guess the cartoon games aren't for me anymore...

You folks who are coming back do reliaze that Funcoms stock is down to 9$ or lower now. It can not maintain support for very long.

welcome back this truly is the best mmo of all time and with so many people joining us in AOC after warhammers failure this game should quickly reach the 2-3 million sub mark. WOW even changed alot of their game recently to attempt to compete with AOC but unfortunatly for Blizzard its only a matter of time till AOC grabs the crown from them.

The downside to this is that most of the servers are gonna have que times again but with all of the new conent on the way there should be plenty for everyone to do. See ya in game

Afaik Funcom wasn't looking for some new funding and didn't plan to issue some more stock; so what is happening with the stock now is very unfortunate for the original investors but as a customer this doesn't bother me at all. On the other hand, the positive aspect to this is that Funcom are now pulling their fingers out, and we can only hope that they learned something form this...  (-> i.e lousy PR tactics...)

What is however important to me is that the game can keep enough subscriptions to break even and to finance development so it can grow. They now have 400k people playing; a rough guess of mine would be that as long as they can keep 200k+ people it's enough.

Dude are you joking? Why the hell would a WoW/War player come from a seamless, huge world with far better balanced classes to an instanced, buggy(lol memory leaks, dead mobs still attacking you)game and with worse support than GOA?

You are deluding yourself if you think WoW/War gives a shit about AoC.Changing its content for it? Rofl.. Hell, not even an older MMORPG player like a L2/Eve/EQ2/DaoC would play this thing: in those games you got far many things to do than in this one and L2 got almost the same graphics and it's 3 years old.

What are they going to do? Add 2-3 more raids? With so many instances, this is a multiplayer RPG at best. It won't do much things compared to the content of other MMORPGs.

Stop living in a fantasy world. No matter how blind and fanboi you are for this game, you gotta admit it it's dead. Graphics ain't shit if content is worse than Perfect World's one.

BigMango i question there 400 K subs and the reason is 9$ stock shares now if they really had 400K the stock price would reflect that. Sadly it does not.

I'm glad you're enjoying the game.  I keep thinking I'll try it again down the road but really it's more likely that there will be more new games to try at that point.

Wow, I don't mind AoC getting some positive support as I'm prefering the game myself, but this is a bit over the top even for me.

First of all, I don't really like the impression of Warhammer, and I think alot of people will be bored with it, but to call it a failure...? It hasn't even been released yet (!) afaik.

As for AoC reaching 2-3 mill subs... let's keep it real, I don't think that's gonna happen in quite some time yet. Too much negativity and angry quitters for that to happen any time soon.

As for AoC grabbing the crown from WoW... I'm sorry buddy but  ?  This type of game can't really compare with something like WoW, restrictions like the mature rating age limit, the type of genre with lots of blood and gore, doesn't make it a game for everyone.

Also IMO and many others, the missing features are taking way too long to be implemented.

I'll still stay with AoC for quite some time though, not to support Funcoms mistakes, but to support this type of game, because unfortunately I don't see many others around.

Yes I understand your thoughts. Funcom have used some very shady PR tactics for months, I was as furstrated as everyone else and didn't subscribe after the first 30 days.

I guess next week we will see a turning point for the game when the new pvp system is patched in; this will show us if the game has some future or not.

I really like AoC, I really do. But, Protus. This is such a joke.

I went and tried WAR and found it lacking any fun on my part. But, AoC is nowhere near the greatness you wish it to be.

I reupped my sub, as I do find it enjoyable, and just was not finding any other fix (besides Guild Wars which matches AoC's mechanics).

But, the servers are not full, and quite empty at times. There are still weird glitches and the constant patch delay really irks me. I blame Funcom 100% for ruining a fun game....

But, I just feel the old ways of MMO's with their stand around and hit 1 to fight mechanics just leave a lot to be desired.

But, Protus, you need to stop running your mouth. You look like a joke.
