This game is a score. ------------------------------ MMORPGs are great to look forward to after a hard day of work, but heaven is the ultimate reward for those who live Christ-like.

Must be cold in here since the hype meter keeps falling

Gameplay or graphics ... simple answer but for a simple OP I guess that may not be the case unless putting up with a recent game that released with so many millions spent on advertising and such a dissapointment(but the graphics are great no features poor poor) I guess some people will never learn ... ________________________________________________________ SWTOR and COS games that could deliver !!

Oblivion is a single player game not an MMO - COMPLETELY different. consol/single player games are miles ahead of online games in terms of graphical content because there are so fewer factors and concerns that come into play when compared to an MMO. tbh i like the graphics and if they allow us to have good sized fights while still looking ok, rather than lagging like hell with 20 people on screen i am all for it. i gather your an AoC player by the AOC in your name....how's aoc working out for u other than being eye candy?

But I just don't see how they would put so much work into the game just to let it all vanish. The game really has changed in epic proportions over the past few years.. That last video they put out looks insane. And they finally did give '2008' as a date for the game (probably just beta). I think you will find if you read the OP's post again he is not refering to the graphics. I belive he is refering to the name DARKFALL being similar enough to DAGGERFALL that sometimes when he first gets here and looks at the webpage he momentarily reads DARKFALL but thinks DAGGERFALL. Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. Today's dev-mini-update explained a little about the video/screenshot's graphics. News September 13, 2008 First, we have a few new screenshots up in the gallery. Several people found them already, there's a thread in the forum about them and a lot of comments on the nice graphics. We've said this before, and for what it's worth... Darkfall in-game graphics look considerably better than the screenshots and much better than the video. We're also not using a screenshot setting, you're looking at the setting we play on. We just happen to lose a lot in the image and video capture and compression. It was in our plans to make a followup update to the Darkfall Trailer, but a few sites asked us for the same thing, so we'll wait to do it that way.

Oblivion is a single player game. Darkfall is an MMORPG. Age of Conan is a hybrid of the two, as parts of the game basically have to be instanced, because the kids want more polygons. I have played them all from Arena through Oblivion and they still rank as my top 4 RPG games I've ever played. I still play Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion when I'm not involved with a MMO. Darkfall should be proud to be compared to any TES game as the freedom in those games is simply amazing. Graphics wise I'd say that Darkfall is on par with Oblivion which for a MMO with large scale PvP battles that is simply amazing. Especially considering the size of the feature list. If they do release this game with the graphics they have shown and all of the features they have promised this game could conceivably be very big. Maybe not nearly as big as WoW but it will certainly give EQ2, LotRO and EVE online a run for their money. We shall see soon as all will be revealed when Beta finally arrives.
