I am a casual MMO player and I have been following WAR for a couple of months now. I will definitely buy the game once my current WoW subscription runs out early next month. Hopefully this will also be enough time for the early bugs to be squashed. I have a few miscellaneous questions: 1) Has Mythic confirmed that they will add the cut cities and careers in a later update? Will they also add the scars / growing avatar / growing beard feature? Or is that simply speculation? 2) Can someone explain the reasons behind Mythic not including armor/weapon crafting? What distinguishes the current gathering professions from WoW's gathering? 3) A few people have complained about the lack of gear variety and itemization. Can somone who has played the second tier give their opinion regarding this? How good the gear looks and the variety of looks are very important to me. WoW had a great sense of "fashion." How does the dye system differ from Guild Wars', for instance. 4) Can someone review the quality of the instanced dungeons? How do the atmosphere and quality compare to WoW? Anything as good (or even better) than, say, Deadmines, in the first tier? Yes, I'm a WoW noob (I've only played WoW and Guild Wars). I understand WoW's shortcomings (i.e. lack of RvR!) but most reasonable people will admit it absolutely nailed certain aspects: character animations, smooth & responsive interface, varied and creative gear design, great dungeon instances. In my opinion, those are areas that WAR should emulate and those are areas that don't really need much innovation. If WAR can nail those down as well as WoW I will be very happy. |

funny that you should bring up guild wars cause i worry more and more that this game feels WAY too much like GW and im NOT a GW fan... i havent seen much gear at all. ive seen just a few pieces of armor, granted im only lv 7 but all my weapons looked the same till i just got a new sword towards the end of chapter 2. the game even controls and feel-wise, feel like GW... and yeah the dye system helps a bit. i like it and its affordable early on for your whole suit. i havent been in an "instance" yet but i was in a literal dungeon and it was decent. i mean i think age of conan has THEE BEST game/dungeon/geography layout of any MMO so it kinda spoiled me there. but so far the areas layouts arent too bad, in fact they feel interesting and you never get lost because everything looks the same. if you are lost its just because your somewhere new. |
