After 48 hours waiting to get into open beta, here is my first impression.

Let me first adress some of major misconceptions , i seen to be false.

1. WAR=WOW graphic ? Buhuhuhuhuuuulshiiiit!

Who ever told you it is so probably thinks all anime cartoons are made by the same guy. Or perhaps Crysis and COD4 have exactly the same graphic.

In short. NO.

2. Combat is slow and clunky.

NO. It is not WOW combat. It is not designed to be WOW combat. Some people are used to WOW combat and expect WAR to feel just the same. BUT IT DOESNT. So they become confused feel wierd and do not know what to do with their fingers that are used to press WOW skill shortcuts...(lol kidding)

WAR combat feels right for WAR and is carefuly balanced towards RVR

3. Graphic is bad.

It aint AOC. But my PC never stuttered even for milisecond. Not in PVE or mass PVP. Get the point ?

So what do i think about it ?

I usually despise and hate PVP.

Can you imagine that i completely stopped playing PVE and crazily try to level only trough PVP. It is SO GOOD!

So if a game can convert pve player to a pvp-er , it has to mean something ?

Other than that.

6 races each with thier own starting zone that is unique and fun. 20 classes that all play very diferently.

Good production value....

Whats not to like ?

So is it a second comming ? No

It is a good MMO that is bit more geared toward cooperative PVP.

I have to compare it to TF2. Imagine Team Fortress 2 ,  rpg mmo style.

And as every bit addictive.

you sir are one the smartest posters on this site , good job i played every major mmo since early Eq days and War imo is just a damn Fun game alot of peoples are tainted with wow sydrome so they compared everthing the see from it.

I think this is the first time in the history of the planet I've ever agreed with your sentiments Lobo...except for the TF2 comparison.

I've never had so much fun PvPing or in an MMO since EQ1 (didn't pvp there either).  WAR did something right .. it may not be overly innovative and super new but its a great fun game something alot of 'newer' clone & supposedly 'innovative' mmos have forgotten about.

If a Game isn't fun...people won't play it for long.

Agreed, although I never call a game "great" or "flawless".

Except the original Bubble Bobble.

Same here, beside EVE I never really like the PVP element in an MMO. Mainly because I like to play the ‘squishy’ healing class, but after my first scenario with my Arch Mage I was hook and like you, most of my level come from PVP.

WAR is an ok game. Its not bad but not killer game for me either. Both Elf side areas felt the worst IMO, no fun to play either of the Elves, and from what I heared the Devs hated Elves, and it shows.

PVP is fun, even for a no PVP-guy like me. BUT: so far I see little PVP in the open zones, so its mostly Destruction rulez it all, and scenario is nice, but tbh feels repetitive very fast. No idea how often you can make the same 5 minutes battles over and over until it grows boring on me.

PVE is also ok, but no uber creative PVE either.

Asf. with every aspect. Its an ok game, can entertain me a while, but none of those I'd want a lifetime sub for. Something along the quality of LOTRO in terms of how long it will appeal. I prolly will play it one time through, then a bit PVP and then quit, like I did with LOTRO. Guess if you love PVP and the world design it might be different, but so far the world concept didnt thrill me either. *shrug*

But a solid game, ok.

I wish i did stuff because my friends and the media told me to and i internalized it and then was like, "yeah that IS right , how could have i missed that".

Err no i don't , nevermind , TF2 is good fps at best, where as most are bad.

If anything WAr should be ashamed of that comparison.

WAR does what it should it makes pvp fun, viable and worthwhile. I have never went into a senerio or open pvp area and thought it was a grind or something i HAD to do. It is always something i want to do; and this is what so many mmos' pvp has been missing.

Now try doing it with a group of friends :) Luckly, i had 3 rl friends in closed with me for a while. games solid son.

Not sure what your talking about the elves sucking.. the sorcerer and swordmasters are awesome and really fun in rvr.  I think the devs hated the elves for thier looks, as they all look like females with no option for short hair. 

I dunno the graphics look bad and combat was shit to me. It all comes down to opinion but tbh I just don't find the combat fun what so ever I mean in WOW it takes skill but in WAR its just mash skill chain buttons and every class has the same basic skills. I mean WOW came out in 2004 and the graphics were acceptable back then with a nice art style but WAR just looks dated and the animations and spell effects are all horrible.

Most importantly where is the gore?

I seriously sugest you get your eyes check and take some computer programming & design classes. Oh and 3D Graphics Programming classes as well. Oh and Modeling.

Hmm what skillin Wow? there's SKILL in WoW a PvE game?  I mean its a choice between Hmm do I want to Fear today or Stun Lock today (hits single button, proceed to annihilate target unable to protect itself) yes ..such skill there is young skywalker in WoW ... You don't need skill in WoW to do anything.

Its not just another MMO. Being able to level up through PvP alone is unique. PQs don't exist in any other MMO. Those are just two of things I've noticed in my short time of playing. I thought I'd point that out.

Not only you can level up in PvP, you can get decent gear in PvP without buying anything. You can loot them from enemy corpses. Yes, player's corpses.

How can you claim WoW as a game that requires skill when the most important part of the game is PvE grinding against a NPC mob that requires you to do nothing more than learn how to beat it and once you do, it gets old.

Arena in WoW and BG's in WoW serve no purpose so comparing PvP in WoW to RvR in WAR is extremely pointless. Both games are nothing but smashing keys to kill your opponents. Difference is, theres a purpose to RvR in WAR where WoW there is nothing but a set of armor to aquire, woohoo.
