Hells Bells

If this game gets released all who buy it and dont like it will undoubtly be scammed again.

That is if the game gets released, i hop eit does then we can just go on about this one like AoC.

For a game to be in the making for over 6 years cant in no way be worth playing at all.

But if im wrong it holds over 500k subs then i will definately post on this site as i was a

complete moron for saying it. But i feel safe in saying this for some reason but soon all

will be revealed muhahahahahahaha.

Yes because AoC didn't take 6 years to develop and we all saw how well that turned out. Same for warhammer, they dropped features and content to release on time, instead of taking the time to implement the game they originally planned and promised.

We have no way of knowing if this game will be worth it. Many think it will. But if you're going off of development time alone, I think I'd be more inclined to trust a game that took 6 years to develop than one that only took 3.

If this game gets 500k subs then the 6 years definately worth it,  This seems like a pipe dream.

To be in development for this long you would think it will out do WoW. Something tells me different.

Like i said if it does succeed i will post i was a moron lol. This i feel wont happen.

Dude, I'm not a follower of Darkfall, but the things you're saying here are just coming off more in the ramblings category than it is the helpful post category.

First of all, where are you getting this 500K number from? Second, Just because it's been in development longer than WoW was really has no impact on the game itself. I think you've forgotten to consider the fact that Blizzard was a fully operational and fully funded MAJOR game studio when they started work on WoW. The sheer number of people who worked on that game (and still do) meant that they could release in a shorter timeframe. Aventurine, as an independent developer, I would wager doesn't even have 1/3 of the staff that Blizzard did.

I'm not saying that Darkfall will be good at launch, I'm not saying it's going to suck, what I AM saying is that the criteria and examples you're using here don't make any sense at all.

*Edit: some typos corrected for the picky amongst us.

The only difference between a Troll and a Fanboi is which side of the fence they stand on.

Comparing WoW and Darkfall I can see.

But when youc ompare Blizzard to Aventurine you're basically comparing an Orange to a Zuccini... the matchup just isn't there.  It's the same problem with comparing Aventurine to FunCom or Mythic... you're comparing large companies with proven track records to a relatively new player.

Google to Cuil... that's a good example.  One's a mega-corp (who's name is now a verb) who redefined the Web, the other (while possibly better) is smaller and relatively new.

Compare the game, not the company... if you try the latter you're likely to get slaughtered by referencable statistics and facts available all over the net.

Good points Stradden. This game doesn't need to be nearly as popular as WoW to be successful. Even with as little as 50k-100k subs it will be an outstanding success. This is because a small company like Aventurine hasn't put nearly the funding into Darkfall as a company like Blizzard put into WoW. Smaller investments require smaller returns to be considered successful. Darkfall doesn't have to beat out WoW or any of the big MMO companies to be a success, it only has to be able to pay off it's investors and turn a profit. The time it takes to produce the game doesn't really enter into this formula. As long as the investors are patient they can take longer. I just find it very ironic that everyone is slamming Funcom for rushing out AoC and then these same people turn around and slam Aventurine for taking too long. You can't have it both ways.
