What was the first thing you did when you started playing runescape for the first time, other than the tutorial, of course? I can't remember what I first did. Probably explored a bit. I lost all my dignity a long time ago. |

LOL I was pked. before I ever hit a chicken, a goblin .. anything.. Thought it was funny.. if that hadn't had happened I probably would have lost interest right off.. I think it actually kept me playing. I was like ahhh I got killed already!! |

Well, I was pked, about 20 or so times. This was when everywhere was PK before they moved PK to the wilderness only. Anyway, it caused me to quit for a few months, but I did come back and found it a bit obnoxious that they had removed the PK everywhere when I came back, because I wanted revenge. Oh well. Still, I think I would have lost interest and never game back if there was no PKing, despite the fact that PK wasn't and never has been my favorite aspect of the game.

Killed some goblins for money. And the first time I found out about the wilderness I explored the whole place, I walked around in no armour finding all the new areas. I remember camping out for steel plates and money where they respawned at 40 wilderness lol. __________________________________________________ |

I killed a highwayman as I was exploring the area around the draynor mansion. At first I thought it was another player lol. I was like " why the hell did i ever do to you?" and "stop hitting me!" |

My first day was spent running from goblins and apologising to "Men" for attacking them. I couldn't find my way around at all, I spent my first week trying to find the castle in Lumbridge again. Being a newb is fun, I hadn't tried the new tutorial yet, but I miss all those fast seeming level ups. |

Luckily for me I started playing Runescape Classic back in the early years of 2002. The very first thing I remember is that you could make a new account just by clicking on the New User button right next to Existing User. No hassle at all.
Aside from the obvious data about Classic here are some of my takes: -And of course a more mature community back then. -Clans were very complex. -Trust was a big factor. It actually mattered. -The phrase "hard work pays off" really meant something back then, since you had to make every click. -Survival was another big factor, because there was no stupid Stronghold of security free 10k cash back then. -No idiot randoms. Randoms only promote: anger, stress, hassle, more hassle, and a little Gp. -Peaceful yet vigilant environment.
