Today we have added "Imperator" to our ever-expaning list of MMORPG titles. This game is being developed by Mythic Entertainment - the company that brought us Dark Age of Camelot. Yesterday they released the first ever screen captures from within the game - making the game eligible for our list. Here are those shots:

Wow! The architecture is incredible. Definitely fits the alternative parrallel Earth setting. How far off is the expected release of this game? I know they first announced it a long time ago, but there has been very little activity on the official site. I'm hoping that they have actually been working behind the scenes since the original announcement, rather than having mothballed the title for a while before reviving it. Has much potential, definitely looking forward to this one. It's always good to have more exciting projects with high potential waiting down the road, in case the next wave of games falls short. :) Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Wow... Graphics resemble CoH a lot, but I can plainly see what they have been glancing at. It has a touch of AO all over it. Just better.. And with Mythic and I am pretty sure that Realm combat will be in once again... Yes, still the number one game I am looking forward to. Absolutly.

is it just me or do futuristic settings always look fake.. i just dont know. it just looks so wrong always. doesnt feel like a city.

A futuristic city always look fake... Yes, its a whole different thing with fantasy settings, and fantasy worlds, they REALLY look realistic... Ooookey, I think I let this thread go.... Only game I wait for right now: Imperator. "This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly. |

Rome in Space .. comeon .. nothing exciting about that. I was at the Roundtable mythic held in las vegas, where the video clip was shown / trailer/ if the applause to this game was any indication this game will be one of those misses. approximately 300 peoples applause went to clap clap and died down so fast as if to say oh ok thats not something we are interested in. Now of course this is a Dark Age of Camelot crowd that viewd it. Everyone I talked to and according to the boards on vn those that do play camelot would have no interest in this type of game. Everyone i talked to thought the concept was ridiculous with nothing exciting about it. My opinion tho is We have Swg we have Coh we have Star Trek coming up. SwG expansion etc. Why would anyone want to play a game about Rome thats in space? lol / NOW had they done a mmorpg with purely Roman history and setting I know tons of people that would have LOVED that. IM sure there will be some people who find it interesting and about that time in 06 , ppl may need to play something different .. they may enjoy this game for 2 or 3 months. IT is not even gonna have the RVR possibilities it will be based on some new kind of pvp. Read up on it .. This game will be a sleeper of 06 in my opinion. |
