I must say after checking all four German servers, in each one Destruction rules WAY over Order, in every realm. Not just a bit, but very very much, like no hope for Order. is this on other EU and US servers the same? Its kinda disheartning. I dont wanna play Destruction, and it sounds like a real problem if this will remain this way. I know Mythic made some limits in numbers, but after I tried out both sides I see why many play Destruction; the Devs obviously liked that faction more and took much greater care to make the quests and area fun and interesting, not to speak of the classes and the design.

I wonder what will happen if Destruction keeps owning the game in the long shot. :/

Sure destro has the higher population on every server...

but we know why, all the little kiddies have played destruction. How do I know that you say? Well... 9/10 times they get raped in senarios and open RVR play. While order with its much smaller pop dominates.

Yes on the US servers Destruction usually outnumbers Order until the server is considered Full (don't know what pop limit that is).  I play Order and love it though....makes the scenario queue times very quick.  Granted in open RvR it will be more of an issue....but Mythic seems to be capping servers to some degree.

Controll goes back and forth constantly , sometimes order is dominating sometimes destr is , i play on 3 servers and that about how it is , depends on when you log in also , i havent seen a server yet hat was always dominated by one side. Maybe you logged in at a badtime , or did you study this  the whole time 24/7 on those servers the last 4 days to come to this conclusion ?

Although that is a very nicely set up poll, I think that you are rather naive to use that as a credible source to validate your point.

From what I've seen throughout beta is that late at night Order takes control. Why would that be?

Because the 26 - 35 year olds have jobs, and / or kids and can't stay up until 2am playing MMOs? Just because we are "older" doesn't mean we can stay up all night, every night. Our work begins to suffer, then we're too tired to spend quality time with the spouse and the kids.

I ve noticed this trend as well where Order is outnumbered, but i can say i ve seen Order as a much more organized realm in general. That proves to me anyways that more Order are probably older less hyper, gotta be uber and try and solo everyone type players. They run in packs, defend points better etc. I think in my opinion anyways they re a little more of the mature side, especially when i compare the RVR chat on both sides. Order seems to have less leet chat that i ve seen anyways.

Aparently in WoW during beta before it game out, Horde outnumbered Alliance.

Then it went live and it was reversed.

Who knows what'll happen, but at least their putting caps on sides so it doesn't become like 2:1 or worse. Something I wish WoW did.

I hope that trend applies.  I like Dest. and Order, wouldn't mind playing either; it is the people that I am playing with that want to be Dest.  Maybe with some good old-fashioned coercion I can get them to change their minds.

I have been playing on isle of the dead on US servers.  Destro definitely has the edge, but yesterday order started getting together and kicking as ans taking some names.

Had a huge destro zerg in empire norsca early on.  I went to elf area took some points back then we went back to empire and got control of the whole tier, but yeah destro has the edge probably espciall in off hours.

Destruction reigns on Crag Mere.. all three tier one zones are under their control. Order is doing better in Tier 2 though, but not by much..

Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV

This is true. Everyone thought Horde would be immensely overpopulated, but a short while after launch, the ratio was about 1.5 Alliance for each 1 Horde player. But we'll see how it pans out. No matter which side has more, I think it'll be a lot more balanced than WoW's population at launch (note that WoW is a lot more balanced now than it was then).

Well, Mythic aren't the best at balancing. It is DAoC all over again only with 2 sides and not 3.

Have they introduced the 'band aid' population bonuses yet? Extra RP's, XP and Cheaper Keep upkeep?

I noticed some bonuses on my order toon the other day when population was still low and the ratio was pretty screwed up, something like 20% extra on pretty much everything.

In order the be bad at population balancing there would need to be some option or implementation that is better than what they currently have.

Since you seem to know what that is, could you share?  Because I haven't heard of one yet ... at least not one that causes all sorts of other problems and is therefore equally bad.

You don't need to know how to do something better to know something is flawed by the way

You don't need to know how to do something better to know something is flawed by the way

There is no explication of a flaw here.  Care to explain exactly how it is flawed?  Explaining the problems that population imbalance cause is not explaining a flaw by the way.

A problem and a flaw are not the same thing.

So what exactly is not accounted for?  Where is flaw?  What is undermined?

No one has any answers, they just know there are problems.  They can neither suggest a solution nor even point to a flaw in the design.

They want to fix a problem.  Not all problems have solutions, not for the way they are stating the problem at least.  This is one of them.

There is no flaw and none of these guys has any solution.  Every thing they come up with just causes some other problem.  It is simply the nature of the beast and they want to bitch about it.

On Caledor things are pretty even, nobody ever seems to fully control CvE T1, it swings back and forth.

They have queues in place to combat population issues so at least they are trying to deal with the issue.

When they release a game with one class and the exact same abilities we will have balance. Will be boring of course but at least it will be balanced until players start complaing about the skill of others....

....anyone for a game of Pong?

Want to fight other players online relying on YOUR abilities? Stick to FPS games . I'm sorry to say, you will NEVER get balance in todays MMORPG's, that died with Ultima Online.
