Well I'm in the open beta for WAR and I'm really liking what I see. Graphics better than WOW, not as polished but it will get there in a year or so. Combat is a little goofy right now but AOC combat isn't all that great so I'm sure it will work it self out with the devs. Fun factor, this is what has now made me move over to WAR as my MMO, it's just freaking fun to play. Quest are fun, some very funny, PQ will be fun after beta I'm sure. RvR kicks butt, PVP is great, and wow you actually get stuff for doing it, rank, and leveling, loot, cash, extra stuff and all from PVP, wow what an idea, wink wink :) Anyway I just think WAR is a great fun game and I'm looking forward to seeing everything it has to offer. Sure they have some issues but not enough for me to not play, not when I'm having this much fun. O no, don't let me become a fanboi please, shut me up now :) So if your standing out in the desert in Hyboring, nobody to quest with in your area, or instance, they might be standing next to you but you wouldn't know it. Maybe just walking around in circles looking for a group, well don't be down my friends you are saved :) |

I have to agree with the OP. With AoC, at least in the parts that weren't broken, I had the sense that I had played it all before. I know the AoC folks desperately want to believe that the game is "next gen", and is just chock full with innovative systems, but it's just not. The way it plays, it's just another warmed over (and pretty below average) PvE MMO. In my opinion, AoC is much more a clone of WoW than Warhammer is. The graphics in WAR do not look anything like WoW, other than some of the stylistic approaches. Not surprising, since Warcraft "borrowed" heavily from Warhammer in the first place. The RvR is a lot of fun so far, and the PQ's are more innovative than just about anything you'll find in AoC. Oh, and so far for me, though it's still in beta, it's a lot more stable than AoC is even now, three months after release. WAR has been a very fun game so far. It won't be for everyone, but I think a lot of people are going to enjoy it. |

WAR is not better than AOC. Man the graphics is very old school. WAR is not for me I could not get into the game, I played for like 3-4 hours. Im not playing it again not going to buy it either. I still have my AOC account and I think they are going to try to make it a great game. I know that they didn't put everything in the game that was on the box but it's coming . At least it's not a clunky junky graphic game like WAR. The graphics in WAR look alittle better not much than WOW. The game play is better in WOW. WAR is not a WOW killer. AOC here I come. |

I'd say they are about even (in terms of gameplay and such. Not sure about polish and all that. Warhammer seems pretty good on bugs so far but hard to tell about higher level stuff) WAR doesn't really bring much new to the world of MMO's. Pretty fun PvP that can be enjoyed by virtually all (not really new but WAR does it in an interesting way) and perhaps some slightly inovative classes but I really haven't noticed much else. AOC brought a lot of new stuff to the table but unfortunaly it was not complete or it just wasn't inovative enough. AOC had dialog trees (something that MMO's should start all having) but unfortuntly the writers did not really change the outcome of the conversation for the different options. The combat was new and slightly different but sadly they did the system a bit wrong that it becomes boring after awhile (course it's still faster and slightly less boring than many combat systems out there). Can't really think of much else at the moment but both fail and do good in many areas but neither of them unfortunatly make me say wow course I'm a picky MMO player. I tend to like more than just levels and gear. |

Well as bad as AoC turned out to be after Tortage and how Funcom keeps torturing their creation, I gotta say that WAR was damn boring straight out of the box. I'm not gonna complain about graphics or such, its just the gameplay that feels so outdated. It feels like playing WoW in slow motion and with some built in engine lag that isnt lag, just feels like its more waiting and less being active somehow. That doesnt mean that WAR is a bad game or not even that I wouldnt like it. But if I cant get to try endgame in it I wont play it cause lvling in it now is boring. I wanna try the realm vs realm pvp and see if that makes it fun. I bet it is aswell and that its more or less the opposite as with AoC, that the game gets better the further in it you get. But come on, they need to make it more interesting from the start. Cause now it just feels outdated. My hope is if some friend gets high lvl and demonstrates how the game is then. But my pre-order is now cancelled and I'm out in the void again waiting for some developer to, what now seems magically, create a competitive MMO to WoW. Very afraid it wont be until Bioware releases their Star Wars MMO. Now I'm just gonna try and survive until Wotlk is out and see if that brings any new fun to WoW, have some hopes about the new siege bg there. I think Warhammer aint gonna sell as many copies as AoC on launch, but they hardly have to do anything to beat AoC in subscribers unless they decide that we wont listen to the community and break the game more and more every patch. :) |

Aoc what a waste of $50 mil |
Warhammer already beats AOC to death in the fun category, content, patching and performance. All in all its great, already feel I got my $50 worth and its just OB. AOC on the other hand felt like a complete waste of $50 and was the most boring MMO I have every played. |
