WAR (Warhammer Online)

Ah the graphics i see in beta are they the final cut because DAMN they need work. Looks like EQ graphics to me personally before they did the new Luclin models. I can see how this game might be fun loaded up beta last night and had a little go at it. Is it just me or does this seem like the same MMO you've already been playing also. I hope theres something special about this one because unless the RvR is fun as hell for me i dont see me playing this game past two or three months.

my graphics settings are EVERYTHING AT MAX btw.

So far I like the graphics.  Mainly cos it's a RvR game and setting really high graphics is going to give you extreme lag which will take away the competitive edge.  Its gonna suck if you have tons of people fighting and massive lag like some other games.

You probably came to the wrong place if you were expecting graphics along the lines of EQ2 or AoC. Warhammer was never meant to be portrayed in that kind of fashion; and if you were a fan of the tabletop genre and/or the novels, you would know right off the bat that WAR's graphics perfectly fit the bill. The gritty art/animation style works for the Warhammer universe - if they implemented graphics at the level found in EQ2/AoC, the devs would betray the Warhammer roots of the game. Personally, I really can't understand how some people find the graphical style to be displeasing - they aren't superb, but they keep me immersed in the Warhammer fantasy the game is supposed to represent.

I think we have Advanced in Graphic Production since 1999 so i would believe that they could implement a better graphics Scheme not a system hog or crazy crap like Vanguard or AoC but a decent Mesh that looks good not dated.

I think you are stretching the truth here a bit with the whole EQ remark the graphics imo are fine not the best but there is no way they could have made them as next gen because once you hit the RVR area's and are having a mass RVR battle then this would be Chaos, the graphics are much better than WoW but IMO not as nice as LoTRO i am personally enjoying them to be honest captures that Authentic WAR feeling for me especially the Greenskins.

Plus you need to realise that this game is direct Competition for WoW so you need to cater for the masses like WoW and you are not gonna do this with super graphics.

I wouldn't count on them adding any kind of AA or AF options in-game. The graphics options are very similar to that of DAoC (going off of my experiences with the game pre-Catacombs) - they are pretty damn basic.

Im not stretching ****. They use pastel color base on these models to give you a illusion of some immersion in graphics but they are EQ models.

Imo, we shouldnt expect a miracle patch for graphics.  What we are seeing is what it will be.

For me the graphics are perfect.  But I always prefer gameplay over graphics.

The grapchis are, imo, better than EQ and WoW.  They for sure not better tan AoC and I think that LoTRO has better graphics too.

Of course, I understand there is a trade off between graphics and lag when you have 200 people on screen.

If someone doesnt like the graphics and the graphics are a main feature in a MMO for him, then he should consider if this is the game for him because I dont think Mythic will improve graphics radically.  I may be wrong, ofc.
