I'm really looking forward to this new Bioware game. There's no reason why this game shouldn't be amazing. |

I love how ppl reason there should be zillions of jedi, because it's the Old Republic era. If you read novels, comics from that era, you'll see there were a few thousands of jedi all around in the galaxy. Jedi is not common like flies, they are very special and rare. Star Wars is not only about jedi anyway. Easy to unlock, or one-click-to-get jedi, hahh. How about that "jedi's life is a sacrifice"? And the hard training? It has zero immersion if everybody and their mother is a jedi. Easy things get boring fast anyway. And if you want to be the all mighty jedi without putting the time and effort into it, you should just play a single players game like KOTOR, or Jedi Academy. |

the NGE showed me what a star war world full of jedi look like and i did not like that at all, so even a "new" star wars mmo in the time line of the old republic will not make me jump up and down and waiting to play that game. i was happy with swg when it followed the time line of the "old" movies and seeing a jedi was super rare and unique. the "new' star wars movies only made people forget that SWG was set in the time when all jedi were DEAD and bringing them all back just killed the game. if they had just kept the holo grind and made jedi rare i would still be a bounty hunter in that game today trying to hunt them down but i fell for there trick and did the village quest to be a jedi and regert that ever since. |

Stand up for what you believe; Even if you stand alone. |
Call me an RP jerk who doesn't give a damn about your average fanboy gamer that just wants to flare up a saber and play Jedi, but I think there should be some serious difficulties to being a Jedi or even a Dark Jedi. There are codes and consequences for both sides. In KOTOR, there was the Force Meter which showed how light/dark you were... when you play out of your role, you're 'penalized' and when you play your role, you're rewarded. I'm not offerning an exact solution here, but I do think that it shouldn't be easy to become a Jedi - in fact, I think it should be an almost 'unattractive' offering to most people who want to play around in the Star Wars Universe... Or maybe I'm just taking it too seriously right now because I'm tired of children with glowsticks running around. ...Anyhoo, in case anyone missed the post I made in the middle of the night... I'll repost in this thread: It's kind of an oldie but a goodie especially if you missed it and are looking forward to the 'Kotor MMORPG'. Download the interview HERE: http://www.eucantina.net/media/EUCast%20-%20%20Cantina%20Chat%20with%20Drew%20Karpyshyn.mp3 And fast forward to 33rd minute. Some quotes from the interview - which of course don't directly verify the KOTOR MMORPG "I would love to give you guys sneak exclusive information." "There's a lot of information out there - I think people have a pretty good idea of what's going on." "I've seen 'stuff' and I think it's pretty impressive and I think people are going to be pretty happy and pretty excited when it finally comes public" Enjoy :)
BTW: For those unfamiliar with Drew Karpyshyn's work, he's the writer responsible for KOTOR 1 for BioWare as well as Mass Effect, as well as a few Star Wars novels and much more. Check out his website at: http://www.drewkarpyshyn.com/games.htm
