CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN
15% (no change)

OBAMA
39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

Married making 125K - tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN
- 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA
Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Nice try OP.  With a little research you'll find that alot of things in your list are flat out lies, others are misrepresented and others McCain was actually wrong.  Then others are purely opinionated.  Again, nice try.

Pulling one lie out of his list check out Obama's stance on pulling the troops out and his timetable.  Which isn't much less than the timetable Maliki wanted and the timetable Bush and Iraq are working on.

That is just the tip of the iceberg of the lies.

Oh and if you do some research on Obama's actual tax plans you'll find that if you are making less than 600k you'll be getting a tax cut.  Also, if you are making like 80k or less you'll be getting a 'BIGGER' tax cut under Obama than you will McCain.   Don't just go by what rightwing sources say.

The only people who'll see a tax increase are..... people who make over 600k!

Overall, under Obama's plan the actual overall tax cuts amount to 0.3%.  However, under his plan if you are making less than something like 80k then you'll get a BIGGER tax cut that under McCain's plan.  Oh but I bet you didn't know that?

Again, if you don't believe me, research and find out for yourself from Obama himself.

It's amazing he supports those flat out lies with documented sources. And yes, Obama did say in the primaries he would do an immediate pullout. He only recently changed that stance.

The taxes are dead on. Obama plans to increase taxes and implement a craptastic socialized medical program which will drain this country even more so than social security.

even if you are right I would much rather pay a tiny bit more income tax and not get ass-raped on things like investments since I don't want to get punished for trying to retire one day and for trying to be successful no matter how evil those things are.

Thats's all good information and all, but if other Americans could actually read (let alone find their state on a map), Ron Paul would be in McCain's spot. Just my assumption.

But what I DO know as fact is that, people are playing in a popularity contest. Hardly ever have I come across anybody that actually knows anything about the candidate they are supporting; NOTHING!

The good news is, my girlfriend is starting to see where this country is heading and is asking me about my thoughts of moving out of the country. Cool! Now I don't have to leave her behind.

Enjoy your life with Susan Sarandon.

Joking aside, Ron Paul failed. Only 9 delegates voted for him.
