"We have encountered serious problems with the authentication system since this morning, while the stability of the game servers, the speed of the patcher and the performance of the downloader have all been satisfactory. This issue, combined with an exceptional amount of traffic and a fault which was not identified during the extensive tests we ran on our platform has unfortunately limited the access to our servers to only a few of you along with our closed beta testers who had already been a part of the closed beta.

Throughout the day, we have reconfigured the authentication and database servers several times, both of which suffered under the huge number of simultaneous connections. The investigations and corrections we have done so far were essentially targeting the parts of the system which doesn’t require a complete stop of the writing process in the database. This means we preferred to keep the database turned on during the day to let it work on the huge number of accounts that were being handled at the time. This operation will continue throughout the night and, when complete, we will shut down the database and reconfigure it.

If the operation works as expected, we can once again give you access to the account page and let you register your code for the open beta. We expect to the whole maintenance to be finished late Monday morning.

Naturally, we will keep you informed of the development of this maintenance and we expect to give you an update in the morning.

We thank you for patience and humbly ask for your understanding."

well in space of 15 minutes iv now got my gf account created and now awaiting verification email ..so obv things are running smoother while no one is spamming the site ...cool (for me atm) still shows that the actuall registration process via the site and patcher is bugged still.

Been a disaster of Failcom proportions.

 Been hammering login all day, finally i managed to get to the key entry page and after about 30 minutes of hitting validate, finally accepted my key. 50% done patching! WeWt.

I must admit this OB makes AoC's OB look pretty good

I have JUST put in my beta key and it JUST accepted it so if you are awake right now, hammer the login and you will get in. Also the patcher is very fast (guess because its early mornin)

Woke up in the middle of the night and managed to validate key. Patching atm. Good luck to those who didn't. It is really frustrating.

Finally got my activation e-mail after 12 hours of waiting, and now of course I can't even use it because the authetication server is down.  F*ck you GOA.

Yeah, this is pretty funny registred around 12 am yesterday and i still haven't got my validation email... geez.. anyone else who haven't gotten their validation email?

I've been waiting my validation e-mail for over 12 hours now. It's now taken so long I don't think it's ever coming.

I hope GOA has some function to re-send validation e-mail in their account management, but so far the only thing I get when trying to login is an error message.

its 6:50 am and still auth is down since midday yesterday!

Man, this is how I would describe a *complete failure* state of things. Almost 24 hours passed from the term we were promissed to get use of OB (and frequently paid for it by ordering pre-orders/CEs), and what we get is only:

- more promisses

- clueless explanations

- errors (414 and 1103)

- *service unavailable* and *youre already logged* messages

A complet failure, IMO.

Unability to give me promissed service = total failure of the service, and I really do not care which part of the service (or which individual worker) is the cause.

And do not try to tell me neither that OB is *free* (since I pre-ordered and pre paid the game to be in it), not it is *something extra* I receive (since we were told to pre-order the game to make us 100% sure to be in OB).

This is the worst launch of the game I ever seen (including SWG, EQ/EQ2, PotBS, WoW, NF), seriously.

Finally I got in and they accepted my key, patching atm.

ME TOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Finally! After 12 hours of f5ing, hitting my head against the wall, hair-pulling and getting my nuts off, i finally made it.... 85% patched

It is open beta and not release.  I've seen worse then this anyhow. Shit happens but once u get in,  you will forget all.

Now only problem atm is there is only one server active [FR] Athel Loren

so auth is back up later morning ?? thats no good i got college :(
