I told some guy off today for being a complete ass with smart-licked comments to some guy posting  on the WAR forums and he sends me this.

"Hey, I reported you for calling me a douche. Just thought I'd welcome you to the internet.

Cheers."
 

Whats this world come to when little kids, or sadly grown adults, cannot take being called a douche?  Oh the thin lines people walk.

The point I want to get out people is that you should treat others as you want to be treated, the Golden Rule as some people might remember.

if it makes you feel better the mods here dont take too kindly of users reporting people for trivial things.

If it's ok to you to put someone down with name calling. Then you should have just let it go when you read that persons comment, because you should have found it funny. No, you had to reply to him and call him a name. You know what, this is like grade 1 material.

Welcome to one of the oldest forms of griefing on the forums.  I've been a victim of it myself.

Some people aren't able to retort ably to a comment, or know that they've been roundly beaten.  So instead of taking their lumps and learning from them, they will report to a moderator.  This is the same thing as the kid who got called poopy pants or some such, and went crying to teacher. 

It's a hit or miss situation, sometimes the reporter gets lucky and gets the person banned.  Other times, very very very rarely the reporter will get slapped on the wrist for wasting a moderators time.  It's my wish that the latter happened more often than the former.  But, I don't think it will ever happen.

Funny too when the person that complained about being called the petty name tells you to grow up. Too funny.

What if his family was killed in some sort of freak douche accident? Ever think about that?
