Personally Ive had many bad experiences with DF fans just going berserk. I USED to be a fan of this game, but I tend to be a little irritable when it comes to waiting a decade for a game to be released. B) They constantly make up excuses and reasons for Darkfalls antics, they put these wicked PR spins on it too. Heres a couple good examples

           a. Theyve postponed it not because they dont have the rescources or know how to get the   game released in a professional manner, but because theyre so concerned about release the "ultra" polished product.

           b. They dont have many videos and very little to show because they "Dont want to overyhype" it.

           c. They dont have muchto show because "Theyre busy working on the game".

C) When that video was released with so many things not shown in it was because "That stuffs not important, itll be there dont worry"

D)  Any other generic concern you might have will be met with "Dont worry they'll get to it, theyre really busy right now"

E) If you bring up the fact that Tasos has has lied, and actually present proof youll be met with. "You can't prove that, youre just a troll."

Ill stop here, because these guys will literally froth at the mouth when they read this, and I fully expect it. These are the same whackos that sent me personal mails in MMORPG.COM just to gloat over the video. Mind you I dont even recall who these people were until I went back in post history. That just shows the level of zealotry on their part.

So yeah, expect a great example of their responses when I post this, Ill let the truth speak for itself.

And those that may reply to this will still only be a very small sliver of the overall community. On another note... Posting obvious flame bait complete with name-calling and put downs is not a very good way to get your point across. Try constructive criticism posted in a non-inflamatory way and then see what kind of replies you get. Trying to get people to flame you by flaming them first is just not a good way to prove whatever point you're trying to make here.

I can agree with this part.  Well except for you having the right to because you waited however long you say you have.  DF owes you nothing and the reasons you listed and the "pr spin" examples show that you are part of the reason why we keep getting unfinished games released to us in this genre.

God forbid you could believe a company actually wanted to release a polished game to you.

The problem with you guys is that when you make excuses for Darkfalls problems, you say "ITS OKAY" to their antics.

If you want a good game like you say you do, you hold these bastards accountable for their actions, not make excuses for them to continue on their current path.

You dont change a brats behavior by making excuses to everyone for his behavior, you punish them in hopes theyll be a little better person for it in the long run.

Yea see this is why no one really takes you seriously on these boards anymore.

Antics?  What antics.  DF owes us nothing.  They have explained their stance on how they handle the information they give out, if you dont like it, move on.  We arent paying customers yet, and we know that the dev team has our best interests in mind.  They have asked the community what we feel about things like SCS and SRS. 

You call them delaying a beta and restarting the game or missing an update "antics".  When they start making lies to us like funcom, when we actually have to pay for it, then you can call them antics.   We choose to follow them.

We dont need to make them accountable for their actions. 

Innocent until proven guilty remember???  Guess not.

Sounds like DF had the opportunity to release some kind of game into beta in 2003.  But chose not to because, like they said, they werent happy with it.  Guess you would rather have had them release whatever crap they had at the time instead of delay.  Unbelievable.

Sounds like we are holding developers accountable when WAR openly admits to not being ready and what they are going to cut out.  And you think DF devs want to give out more info at this point when you trolls rip everything they say apart and anything they do say gets labeled as a lie or faked?  yea thought so.

Why did the video take so long?  because if they just fraps'd for 5min and hosted it then it would have been ripped apart for whatever reason.  It was their first big marketing attempt in awhile and it had to be perfect.  and as good as it was...people like you still complained that they didnt show every spell and every aspect of the game.

I assure you thats not the case. I dont know or care who these people are individually, and I cant understand why they think I care about their PR spinning, ranting, and general tom foolery,

My beef is with the game and its Aventurine, not you personally, I just dont get defending it like Im insulting your mother.
 

um yea i was talking about aventurine.  nothing in my post was defending myself or any other fans because i didnt really see you attacking fans....

but since you are now obviously just trolling and flame baiting like bren pointed out, im not going to waste anymore time on someone who simply cant move on and go follow something he enjoys.

Again blind rage is clouding your vision. I fully intend to play Darkfall, and Ive probably followed it longer than you have. (I was 23 when I started following it, Im almost 31 at this point, and Ill probably be 35 before I get to play it) But I will still play it.
 

However I will not be made a patsy by yet another company with unfulfilled promises and lip service.

And that ladies and gentlemen, has nothing to do with its "fans" and yet somehow they manage to take it personally and go on the offensive when my opinion doesnt have a flippin thing to say about them until the point where Im getting attacked for nothing more than expressing my concerns about the game.

Ok back onto the thread topics (i apologize for assisting in derailing it)....

One thing about the official forums that has not been pointed out is the moderation.

Mods will give infractions and close threads better than most forums.  A lot of the people they ban and close are the fanboys.  People make the mistake of saying they only lock naysayer posts, but thats couldnt be further from the truth.  So many repeated topics made by fanboys are locked if it is just out of hand.

But when a naysayer comes to the boards saying "lol this game is vaporware why is this forum even here"....yea you cant really complain about moderation when it gets locked.

The community staff does an amazing job.  See the community staff Q&A thread  and other stuff they modify. 

For example if someone were to ask..."When is beta expected to start"...when someone replied "the goal is for an october beta with a 2008 release"...thats usually it.  Simple question, simple answer, thread is closed.  They dont let it derail into "omg but they promised last time" or "i actually think it will be earlier"  or "omg omg omg i cant wait pick me peeeeeeeese"
