Thanks for taking the time to reinforce my points. I appreciate you letting me know that Funcom's official explanation is limited to a couple of lines and the other method of dispersing information is to be buried on thrid party sites. The sites say "The extra development time will give Funcom time to implement more features in the DirectX 10 version of Age of Conan than originally planned. " and "building a DirectX 10 version worthy of Microsoft's great vision for the future of PC gaming" or others like the text you highlited in yellow.....have no reason for the delay. EE gave a reason as to why the delay and it just doesnt jive with the previous info. One more time.......Funcom needs to take a page out of the Mythic playbook and just be open and honest about what's done and what's going to be done with the game. They could have simply said what he did in the interview at the outset. The why is as important as the when.

Well that is a much better weasel statement than it was presented. But whiely it is not baldly stupid it is completely weaselly.
Its still complete BS. I participated in a number of threads on the AoC forums where more than one dev specifically stated PvP xp and PvP levels were an imporant feature that would balance out the PvP and PvE endgames. Along with PvP items and various other things.
Specifically this was mentioned as part of the reason raiding would not mess with PvP players along with various other topics as well such as how people could PvP right from the start of the game etc.
So in the end it is still directly against numerous dev statements and is obvious damage control with no basis in reality. |

LOL, yes this is a joke, and so was so many things in the last few months, IMO I never thought that I would end up in a MMO Dabacko like this since SWG. Hey Famine thanks for the reply in the PM, but you just further proved everyone right, that your community relations sucks the fat one! along with your MMO. I would also like to add that your EULA should have an amendment added: IF we do not deliver on our promises that all participating players shall and will receive 1-6 months of free game play depending on the dis-satisfaction.

This game sucks. Any game developer that spouts PvP and DX10, and then doesn't have them implemented at launch, should be fired and the game should fail. The game is already failing. Just a matter of time before heads roll at Funcom. |

Sorry ! I understand completely. I quoted from the sites you listed so there isn't any interpretation involved. It makes exactly the point I made in my OP that Funcom needs to be more up front and honest with informing its customers as to why a decision is being made instead of a couple lines released just barely before launch that few people saw. Not that it would matter anyway when some releases have no reason, others say that the delay is to make the Dx10 version better, and now EE says they were working out the bugs in Dx9. If you really need to feel that you are right....ok...you win. Im not wasting more time on the topic. Enjoy the coolaid while you play your shitty game. |
