Politicians continually bash their opponents, despite the qualities that their respective opponents may have.

Sure, other games may not be bad, but you can't blame Darkfall followers for understanding the system and knowing how to raise their game's hype level to gain recognition.

As far as Darkfall goes, as a game, it's not perfect but it's closer to perfect than any other MMORPG since PRE-UOR.  Every other MMO since EQ has been a clone of the same grind-and-find system that is boring and pointless.

It's time the real MMO vets took back the very genre of gaming that they helped create. 

MMORPGs don't belong to the carebears it belongs to the roughneck hardcore veterens of the 20th century.

A.) DF could be good if it ever comes out.

Do you know what "hype" is?  It looks to me like when the DF video came out, it got a lot of people interested in the game, and also cause passed naysayers to change their hype to a 10 from a 1...which is why it jumped up so much.

"Hype" would also mean that the meter is refelecting how much fan loyalty is behind DF since they care about it.  There are something like 2k - 3k votes on the DF hype meter...while other games have only 200 or so that are hovering around the 7.00 mark. 

 

This wasn't about Darkfall hype going up, it's about Darkfall fans knocking every other game down

If the games you are talking about have enough hype to be on there, im sure its fanbase will hype it up more.  DF's hype has gone up in huge amounts the last week, and i guarentee you that is not because of some plan on the official forums alone...it is because people are actually seeing the video, reading up on it, and discovering a game they would like.

 

Thank you personal defender of Darkfall, you know everything. I'm sure the hype has gone up not because people are finding out about darkfall, but because they saw the video and thought "OMG IT EXISTS!"

Aye i agree, Darkfall excists and many seem to have opened up their eyes for the game and given the game the proper vote on the hypemeter.

For real though? WTF is the Hype meter beef? and how will it effect your enjoyment of the game? HAHAHA so funny that this is even a topic.  I'm sure many here have trashed the hype meters.

Stargate worlds has gone down .05 in a pair of days also, so did Aion, and yes, those are darkfall fans hyping down everything and creating new accounts to keep hyping the other games down and hyping darkfall up.

Reread your post you toitally contradict yourself, the systems make the gameplay same thing. I guess they could go to the AOC model beef up the graphics and have 6 people in 40 instances instead of 240 on one !!!

for a FPS(which is what darkfall is right? or is it now a racing game?).  It looks clunky, i can't say if it plays clunky, i got bored watching the vid so i may have missed someone actually playing it, since gods eye staged vids simply aren't that interesting.

It looks clunky, the battles look clunky, the models look clunky, the attacks look clunky, everything looks clunky and old.

If you say it doesn't your jaded.

Heck i'd say wow LOOKS better, and it was released 4 years ago, and people said it looked old when it was new.

How much of a exception are you going to make for a game  you want?

 

A game is a game is a game.

It doesn't matter if 1 guy made, 10 guys made it, or 100 guys made it. 

So what your saying is that all the other video's that developers make for the public are not staged?  Only the Darkfall video is staged?
 

Really?  You can't really believe that?  Every video that is made by a company to promo their game is staged my friend, maybe you need to live in the real world like the rest of us. 

Why even argue with someone like this?  This is the perfect example of why developers are making games that hold your hand from start to finish.  This poster (bladin) is the target market.

Quite elitist, wouldn't you think, for a moment, that the people who hyped darkfall down hyped it down cause it has been in development for many years and they just came up with a 6 minutes video of almost nothing?

Or that people are wary that low budget companies don't deliver, or ruin the game in a way or another?

Or that people think that those kind of games incite cheating, and those who think so, think that Adventurine won't be able to face that?

I loved UO, but I don't see DF as something to be hyped about.

Honestly, I have never touched nor payed attention to the hype meters.  If you think under-hyping/over-hyping is new to Darkfall fans, then you obviously haven't been here very long.  People have been screwing up the hype meters from day one.

I believe it was 3 years ago (?) that WoW fans were messing with the hype meters.  Like I said, this is far from new.  There's always a group doing it, it's nothing to get bent out of shape over.  If the hype meters really affect your gaming so much, then it's probably time to step back a bit.

Lots of people are hyped for this game.  If you aren't then vote accordingly...thats kind of the purpose =)  I know, its difficult.

Well, i am a critic of Darkfall and even though its fanbase mostly consists of obvious weirdos i would support them on this topic coz i see it similar....

If they want their hype meter up, theyll vote best for darkfall and lowest for other games, thats obvious and cool at least with me...the real question i would like to ask the OP is: Why the heck do u bother? I cannot imagine even the dumbest entity roaming sites like this, to care for something completely ridicolous and infantile like a Hype meter, or hypometer or whatever.....at least for me its not even worth looking at, not only because its system of rating can easily be tipped in one direction but also because the whole idea of sth like a Hype-meter as some kind of measurement of the product the hype is about seems worthless.

I even hate the word Hype. etymologically as well as phonetically.
