I have been following Warhammer Online for a bit now and have been in since closed beta. I have played everything care-bear you can think of EQ, EQ2, Horizons, SWG, WoW, Vanguard, and LOTRO. I played AoC for all of a month and got sick of that gankfest orgy.  I am really disappointed in the class cuts Mystic has made. I was stoked about playing a Dark Elf BlackGuard and they had to toss that class out along with a handful of other classes. Now there is nothing that appeals to me with the Dark Elf race and the only race that has anything really are Chaos and High Elves. I have enjoyed the game so far but the lack of class choice and the slow combat is very disappointing. Are they going to add those classes back at a later time or not?

Now on the combat, it feels like when I click auto attack alone I can get up go fix dinner, eat and drop a deuce all before the next swing.  If I want to kill anything within a 20sec window I have to spam the shiz out of special attacks.  I don’t know if this is due to the month of AoC’s fast paced combat but sweet jebus I want to fall asleep. I love the rest of the game and the environment but the other two have been kind of a turn off. Does anyone else feel the same way or is it just me being too dang picky?
 

Uhm...I think you got into this game with the wrong ideas in mind....I don't have any issues with the game.

I don't know what game you're playing but I am not having that problem at all. I'll make a video with a 2H weapon and show thats not true.

Well of course fellas it won't take that long.  I was trying to provide some humor but it does seem to be a bit slower than what I remember from other MMO's.

Depends on what class you are playing. I am currently uploading a video using a 3.4 speed weapon and it's just like any other game.. with any other 3.4 speed weapon. 3.4 seconds is 3.4 seconds no matter what game you are playing.

Yes, this is your time to kill.  Unlike other games Mythic didn't want to use big numbers and beef up equipment to godly status to keep people from 1 shotting each other.

Still going on about the class cuts?  Seriously, how old is that news now.  I had my heart set on playing a Choppa but you know what?  I got over it.

Hrmmmm. Friend, I think ya need a good meal and a nap. I agree with your own comment that you are cranky. It sounds like you hate every game at the moment.
 

But you do have the right to voice your own view on WAR, although I highly dissagree on what you said about it.

I like the game, and alot of the games you listed are good aswell, but I am really liking WAR.

I made this video just for you. The first half of the video I'm just auto attacking, then the second half I show how fast you really attack when you are using your special skills. It's a 3.4 speed 2H Weapon. It doesnt seem any slower than any other 2H weapon in any other game.

Well if we forget the fact that you are bringing up things that were announced, oh I don't know, months ago...class cuts.  Also, the "slow" combat, which is also about 30% of the threads here; I still don't think you could convince anyone that you have "followed" the game for a while.  All of these things we talked about for what seemed like an eternity. 

So I'm not going to bite and call you a troll or tell you that you are working off of old info, nothing like that...but I would for you to be included in my state sponsored program that I am going to start up.  Just one shot and you are done. 

I think maybe Locklain can give you a brochure and some figures if you'd like.

I find this very confusing. Why are you just auto attacking? If you are hitting the buttons you should be doing a special attack every 1.4 seconds, in AOC you hit a button every 1-1.5 seconds as well. In AOC doing a special attack at high levels took upwards of 5-6 seconds from when you started the combo to when it goes off. An AOC caster players exactly like a WAR caster just with fewer abilities and variety.

The combat system is built around the special attacks, you should almost always be doing one.

So what is the point of the AA then?  If you use a combat art/special attack the same time an AA is due, does it overwrite the AA or count both attacks and calculate the damage?

Which animation gets priority if the latter is the case?

First of all no class choices? you do realise there are 20 classes in this game. Thats ALOT of classes compared to most mmo's.

And secondly THANK GOD the combat is slow. The idea of the game is that you play with a group and not go at it solo. This is one of the reasons they call this game RVR and not PVP.

Auto attck is just that. You...auto...attack...every...few...seconds. Some classes are slower than others. I see the auto atack as more of a 'I ranout of AP so something will still happen every few...X seconds.'

Sounds to me like you are more annoyed with the combat pace than the toon selection. You might just want to wait for something else.
