hello community!

i've been scouting the internet for quite a time now, looking for a free mmo that has INSTANCES! (you know, like in world of warcraft, and possibly in many other games that i havnt played)

instances was one of the reasons i played world of warcraft. I simply loved finding a group, and then going into that dirty dungeon together!

so, if anyone knows of a great mmo that has instances, please let me know, thanks :)

In my opinion if you love instances you might just enjoy Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Every adventure/dungeon/module is an instance. There are some limited adventure zones but essentially you are going into instances with traps, events, treasure chests, locked gates, scripted encounters, etc.

A D&D module if you will.

DDO has a great combat system that is tailor made for the instance environment. The failing of DDO for many is the aspect you love the most so you may just find a home there.

I believe there is a free trial.

Edit: My mistake, you wanted a free game. Ah well, check it out anyway. Good luck. I think 'Sword of the New World: Granado Espada' is instance heavy as well

Instances are not required to find a group and do a dungeon together.

Agreed. Infact dungeons are much more fun when they're not instanced.

Guild Wars...free to play once you've bought a copy of the game.

I'm not sure what an 'instance' is, but if you are looking for a free multiplayer game you might try OGame.  Once you join an alliance you can fleet up with other members to attack and defend planets.

OGame is almost a text-based game (hey, it's free!), but even so it is incredibly addictive.  It's also known as O-crack, so be careful.

Just Launched: Macs in EVE
